What cards are in a tarot card deck?
Well, this can depend greatly on the pack. When tarot was first created in the mid 15th century, the pattern was not fixed, though it did settle fairly quickly. However, there is still a great deal of variation.
Where there is little variation is in the four regular suits. These are found in both Latin suits (being cups, coins, batons, and swords) and in French suits (being hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades). Each suit consists of 10 pip cards and four court cards: King, Queen, Cavalier, and Valet. However, many tarot packs have a reduced number of pip cards!
The Marseilles pattern (itself quite a late pattern) is the one with which most people are familiar. There are 21 trumps (the invention of tarot marked the invention of trumps in card games!):
Le Bateleur (Juggler)
La Papesse (Female Pope)
L'Imperatrice (Empress)
L'Empereur (Emperor)
Le Pape (Pope)
L'Amoureux (Lovers or Love)
Le Chariot (Chariot)
La Justice (Justice)
L'Hermite (The Hermit or originally, Father Time)
La Roue de Fortune (The Wheel of Fortune)
La Force (Strength)
Le Pendu (Hanged Man or, originally, The Traitor)
Death
Temperance
Le Diable (Devil)
La Maison Dieu (The Tower, or perhaps The Devil's House)
L'Etoile (Star)
La Lune (Moon)
Le Soleil (Sun)
Le Jugement (Judgement or The Angel)
Le Mond (The World)
It is worth noting that the ranking has also varied. In Italy, the Angel, although still numbered 20, outranks the World.
The Fool was not originally one of the trump cards - functioning instead as a kind of wild card. It is still used this way in Italy, Sicily, Switzerland, and France. However, most other countries have come to employ it as the highest trump.
The Besancon pattern replaces the Female Pope and the Pope with the gods Juno and Jupiter. These trumps are still used today in the Swiss 1JJ pack, which is used to play Troccas and Troggu.
The Tarocco Siciliano features some more variations. These cards have 21 trumps but only 20 are numbered, with the highest being Giove. The lowest, unnumbered trump is The Beggar. Also found in this pack is the Ship - only otherwise found in the Minchiate...
Minchiate was a Florentine game played with a tarot pack expanded to have 40 trumps and a total of 97 cards! The extra trumps feature more virtues, elements, and signs of the zodiac. It was once very popular and spread beyond Italy all the way to the Americas - we have records showing it being played in New Orleans during the 19th century.
Finally we come to my own favourite, the Tarocco Bolognese. This pack is regional to Bologna and used to be called the Tarocchino, due to its reduced size. The first and most obvious difference is that the Female Pope, the Empress, the Emperor, and the Pope have all been replaced by four equally ranking trumps called the Four Moors. On all packs, two of the Moors share the same design. This pack is used to play a few games but the best and best known is ottocento - a game of great skill!
You can find examples of all these cards, along with rules for the games they are played with at these sites:

Reply:There are 21 Major Arcana (numbered 1 to 21) and there are 56 Minor Arcana (2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace) in four suits (cups, wands, pentacles or coins, swords). The last card is The Fool, for a total of 78 cards in the deck.
The Rider-Waite tarot deck (most popular deck in the US) is detailed in this Wikipedia entry:

22 Major Arcana %26amp; 56 Minor Arcana.
There is no Joker, but there is a Fool.

I prefer Tarot. I like the Hanson Roberts deck, the Robin Wood Tarot and the Connolly Tarot Deck. Because their imagery works well for my readings. I don’t like the darker cards like Crowley’s Thoth Tarot, but each to their own.
Reply:i actually have a book. its very interesting. it helps me in taort, and you not only know the meanings of the numbers, but you also understand colors as well. the regular playing deck was based on tarot.
Reply:Were you working with only the major arcana (22 card deck)? Because the tarot's minor arcana (56 cards) are the origin of the normal playing cards. They consist of 4 suits (wands, cups, swords and coins...or some variations of these) of 10 cards each and resemble the regular playing cards in many aspects.
If you are looking for something that "suits you" you might want to do research on your own.
Personally, I've found that the kabbalah has a very interesting take on tarot and give a lot of importance to the minor arcana. And since they read the tarot like it's "showing you the right path to God (or your higher self)" it's all very full of constructive interpretations.
Just be careful. Since kabbalah is a bit of a fad right now, searching the net for information might get you some erroneous ideas. Be careful with your sources.

Which is better to use tarot cards or a Ouija board?
i've used both i just want others opinions about which they think is better
Which is better to use tarot cards or a Ouija board?
The Ouija was invented as a 19th century American Parlor game.* Playing cards go back much further, to 12th century China, they were introduced to Europe in the 15th century and the earliest documented case of their use for divination was in 1540 with a method using only the coin suit. The Tarot first appears circa 1410-1430 when the extra cards were added in Northern Italy for various types of card games, and didn't become commonly used for divination until the 19th century. Since both were originally created as games and only later used as tools for Divination, picking one to use is purely a matter of deciding with which one you feel most comfortable.
Reply:The Tarot cards are great. They aren't "evil" or anything ( neither is the Ouija Baord it's all hollywood hocus pocus) but they are beautiful. If your into beautiful things there is such a large selection of cards. I have the standard Ryder cards, I love them, I carry them with me all the time, I appreciate the art in all of them. Do a search and look around, dont buy from other people make sure you can purchase a pack that has never been used because it will have other energy and you want them to be your own personal set.
Good luck, I take reading very seriously but I dont go nuts or become "fanatical" over it, I hardly ever do my own readings and if i do I take my time with it. Really understand the message. Make sure before you begin your calm and relzxed and have time because it's all about your time and your space to learn something about yourself.
The cards will never tell you " your fat" or " your a loser get a better job" or " leave your spouse" that's not how they work it will give you an insight on the details we all forget at times.
Reply:none of them is better, Ouija board would attract angry spirits and i don't believe in tarot cards to be efficient in telling the future...a word of advice mate, don't be to curious about the future because if you are a believer in such a thing and the cards tell you of some horrible thing that is about to come you will start to lose your head and do whatever possible to stop it from happening and this way you'll end up wasting your life for something that will never happen.
Reply:they both work on the same principals. spirits altering the movment of an object. because ouija boards can spell, the are more dangerous.
i wouldnt use a board unless u are sereous about it and respect it as you would a human because it is a human spirit that oporates it
Reply:Without a doubt the Tarot cards. I hate to say it, but one never knows how honest the spirit is when using a Ouija board, but the guardian that helps you with the Tarot will always be faithful to you and not lead you astray.

What is the method for 'keying' new tarot cards & selecting a signifier?
Accurate and detailed replies appreciated. I also seem 2 have tuned off the rider waite deck that i am learning on...just dont seem 2 like/connect with it suddenly! Any guidance on what can be done and suggestions for any other interesting, mystical deck. Love n light...Thx
What is the method for 'keying' new tarot cards %26amp; selecting a signifier?
When I have a new deck I like to go through making sure they are in order and all there. I've had brand new still in packaging decks missing a card, or having a miss print. After I know they are in order and all there I deal them one at a time into 7 piles. I like to do this to give me a chance to look at all the cards and to start to get them into a random order. I then start shuffling adding a pile at a time until I'm shuffling the entire deck. I think this really gets my energy into the cards and also gives me the time to play with them. Personally I don't think it's necessary, but it's nice.
As for a Significator, I use a separate deck and chose a card the I feel feels like where I am right now. I choose from the entire deck. I will also sometimes chose a card that show what I want to create in my self and use this as a final card. So I have a signigicator that I start with, drawn the cards for the spread, and place my chosen end card as the final card. I like to use a separate deck for a few reasons; the two main ones are:
1. I'm not removing a card from the readings in case it has something to show me, and if it does match one of my chosen cards I take that as having additional meaning and weight.
2. It gives me an opportunity to use a deck I may love the art of, but don't really use for readings.
I don't use significators for the majority of my readings.
You can of course add extra ritual to all of this, you can place the deck in the light of the moon the night before you do this. Message a special oil into your hands before starting, I use sandalwood. Light a candle. Say a prayer. Do a calling ritual. Anything that fits with your spirit and feels right. None of it however is necessary. If you think the deck is yours it is.

With that in mind im not sure what you mean by 'keying'?
Significators are a matter of choice, some do not like to take an important card from the deck. A significator doesnt always have to be a court card either.
From a court card pospective you can use them from an astrological, colouring or personality view point. Make sure that you only choose one if your new to tarot or it can get confusing.

Reply:I never connected with the RW deck.
I found decks with themes of things that I already have an interest in.
For a long time I used the Legends deck which is about King Arthur %26amp; Camelot.
I'm not sure what you mean by keying, but as a signifier goes, there are a few ways.
One way is to choose a Court card that is most like the person being read for.
Another way is to use the persons birthday and the Majors.
Example- someone born on 4-18-1972
add the numbers up until you have a number between 1 and 22; 22 being 0 the Fool
4+18+1972=1994 1+9+9+4=23 2+3=5
5 being The Hierophant
a person with the birthdate of 11-30-1942 would add up to 22 (Fool), which can be reduced to 4, the Emperor if this card seems more fitting.

Tarot Cards: is it true that you are not meant to get them yourself?
I've wanted a set of Tarol Cards for ages, and am happy now that someone bought me some. The reason I didn't get myself any is because I have a memory of someone telling me, or maybe I read, that they (the cards) always must 'come to you'... Have I just made this up?!
Tarot Cards: is it true that you are not meant to get them yourself?
If you are looking at tarot cards and a deck keeps drawing you to it, that is the deck coming to you. Purchasing it yourself is not an issue. Be sure to touch all of the cards to invoke your persona into them. Wrap them in a soft cloth specially for your deck, and do not let others "use" them other than to lay out the cards for their own reading. There are many types of tarot cards and readings. You can do your own reading with your cards, but will not get a clear reading if you use someone else's deck. Happy future!

Reply:You can buy them yourself but they should "come" to you by being unexpected. Like you should go out shopping (in real life--not on the internet) and find them in an unlikely place. Or go to a likely place but find some that are on sale or clearance or come with other free extra stuff. I personally don't use tarot cards, I use playing cards, and I got mine by shopping at Walmart and looking in the toy section (because I LOVE dolls) I happened to notice that's where they kept their playing cards. One really jumped out at me because it was my favorite color (purple) and they are "Clear Playing Cards". I thought that was funny because perhaps it would make the answers they give "clear". I felt they were specially put there for me so I bought them. They work just fine.
If someone bought you some you might want to like purify them first and then do whatever you do to make them work for you.
Reply:If you are going to be reading tarot cards professionally it is said that you should be presented with the pack. Personally, I feel that if you feel attracted to a particular pack you should purchase it. In any case, the style of your first pack should be one which appeals to you - after all you and these cards are going to spend a lot of time together.
Reply:By "come to you" it means being put in your path. You can certainly buy your own tarot cards. You have to choose a deck that speaks to you and will work with you. It's just like any other tool - you will know when the right one comes along. Sure, fate can work to get someone to buy you the right deck. But it shouldn't be that complicated. More than likely, the giver has no idea what you really need, and is just picking up whatever's convenient. You need to be actively involved, not passively involved.
Reply:"You must NOT buy your own deck!"....is a tarot myth.
There is no special power or anything associated with how you aquire your deck. One given to you is not any more special than one you get for yourself.
I do find that decks that have been cared for and used by others have a bit of a residual energy of that person, but it does not change things for me or the deck.
Want a deck, go get one! Don't let some silly myth stand in the way.

Tarot Cards, Psychic Mediums or just Psychics? Which is the best one?
In the past I have had readings that were all pretty good. But i'd like to know which is probably the most accurate the Tarot Cards, Psychic Medium or a regular Psychic?
Tarot Cards, Psychic Mediums or just Psychics? Which is the best one?
It has also been argued that if psychic power existed, to use it would be "a gross and unethical violation of privacy" and "professions that involve deception would be worthless". There wouldn't be any need for undercover work or spies. Every child molester would be identified immediately. No double agent could ever get away with it. Psychics would be in demand for high paying jobs in banks, businesses and government. "Most psychics would be very, very rich...."and since psychics are such altruistic persons, giving up their time to help others talk to the deceased or figure out what to do with their lives, they would be winning lotteries right and left and giving part of their winnings to help the needy. We wouldn't need trials of accused persons: psychics could tell us who is guilty and who is not. The polygraph would be a thing of the past. Of course, the operative word here is if. If psychic power existed the world would be very different.
It seems clear that psychics can be explained in one of three ways: (1) they truly are psychic; (2) they are frauds, taking advantage of people's gullibility and weaknesses; or (3) they're deluded and self-deceived. Of the three options, the least probable is option number one. "Psychics" who are honest about their deception call themselves mentalists and call their art magic or conjuring. Yet, it is the "psychics," not the mentalists, who are the darlings of the mass media. Thus, when the mass media promote "psychics" for their entertainment or news value, they are either promoting fraud or encouraging delusions.

Tarot cards are a tool that are used by clairvoyants %26amp; mediums.
Psychic is a blanket name for all who work with spirit.
A meduim is used when you wish to have contact with a loved one who is in spirit.
So I guess it would be best decided by your needs at the time.

Are they evil, or permitted given that Joseph Smith used a seer stone and read the golden tablets from the stone in the hat?
“Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat, and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light; and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine. A piece of something resembling parchment would appear, and on that appeared the writing. One character at a time would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English. Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery, who was his principal scribe, and when it was written down and repeated to Brother Joseph to see if it was correct, then it would disappear, and another character with the interpretation would appear. Thus the Book of Mormon was translated by the gift and power of God, and not by any power of man.” (David Whitmer, An Address to All Believers in Christ, Richmond, Mo.: n.p., 1887, p. 12.)

Joseph Smith used the Urim and thummin...and a seer stone. Yes David Whitmer is right it's translated by the power of God. No we don't do tarot cards, astrology or any other occultic practices . The seer stone isn't occultic.
Reply:yes mormons have their own psychics, a patriarch who goves a patriarticle blessing, the one i got, I burned, it was not a blessing. It started me on my walk out of the church of Jesus christ of latter-day saints.
Reply:As a latter-day saint, I believe that wicked spirits walk the earth as well as righteous ones. Tarot cards, wigi boards [sp?], mediums, etc can be used to communicate with spirits, but we cannot always control the spirit which is called. I personally avoid such practices, even for fun or entertainment.
Reply:Mormons do not typically use Tarot cards. The rest of you question is irrelevant.

Does anyone know how to bless Tarot cards?
I hear you should bless them before you use them. I just got a new set.
Does anyone know how to bless Tarot cards?
You can bless them as you throw them in the fire.
Reply:Whether you 'should' really depends on your point of view and your own personal feelings about them. Some readers go through an elaborate dedication / blessing ceremony. Others may do something less elaborate. Some may not do anything special at all. Since it's going to be your tool, you should use your intuition to let you know what you may or may not need to do.
For me, I play with them. I spend the first couple of days with a new deck almost constantly. I don't even necessarily pay attention but just shuffle and shift the cards while I'm watching TV or playing outside with the kids. I've even brought a new deck to the movies with me.
As for the other 'rules' they too are often individual in tastes although most everyone I know agrees they don't just leave them lying around. I have no problem letting people look, and feel and ask questions though I do make sure when I put them away that they are facing the same direction and that I've touched each of the cards.
Blessings
Reply:use them and only use them when in a clear head no negitive no positive just clear!
Reply:This is a personal ritual that is entirely optional. It is not going to affect the use of your cards. Some do a simple candle ceromony and some go as far as to use blood. Its is a simple matter of preference.
Reply:For mine I simply used them repeatedly and keep them out of the reach of others. That way their essence doesn't affect them. Only downside I seem to have is that I only get answers relating to me.... but since I'm narcississistic I'm cool with that.
Reply:There are many ways to bless the cards, some I would never use since they involve blood and to me that is not too good. Anyway, first you should cleanse them to get rid of negativity, then bless them. Another way is to attune them to you (keep them near you 24/7). Some say don't let others touch them, but if you do a reading for someone, they should have brief contact with the cards. Good idea to cleanse after use to rid the cards of any neg. energy as well. There are many rituals out there for that, in books or on the net. I use candles and incense (which changes on the purpose of blessing or cleansing of the item) plus I use my own words for the rituals. That way it is not always the same and always personal! Have fun and enjoy your new set!
Blessed Be.

Reply:You should be cleansing them from the energy of others people, who may have touched them in factories, stores, etc..
You can sprinkle water on each card very lightly, though don't do that if you feel you will put too much on and damage the cards.
Placing them under the light of the Sun or the full moon-Sun is usually more convinient for people. For a few minutes to an hour.
Sleeping with them near or under your pillow, to get your energy into them.
Shuffling them forwards and backwards- getting rid of energy is backwards shuffling, adding your own energy is forwards.
Don't let people handle your cards without your permission, and don't let anyone handle them until you feel those cards are cleansed and your own.
keep them wrapped when not in use, or in a box.
PS- You can let others shuffle the cards when you are reading for them, or when they want to look at the images, but never let them read other people using your cards, even with your permission-the energy will no longer be cleansed.
As long as your intent is good, it matters not what mind frame you are-as biased answers leave with practice and time.
Reply:There are loads of ways depending on your personal preferences. There are some essential steps though, which all good methods have in common:
1. Removal of unwanted energies
2. Protection against undesired interference
3. Binding of the cards to you
4. Invitation of the powers you wish to talk to you though the cards.
5. Anchoring of intended use type to guide the interaction of the deck with the subject of the reading
1. Easiest methods are creating white light (destructive variant) and imbueing the deck with it. Cow dung will also work. Fire and water which are also good cleaners tend to be harmful to the cards. Don't use incense, it's not usefull in this case.
2. If you have a capable and wiling protector/guide ask him/her to guard them for you. Otherwise wrap them in a protective material silk/fur (if you have a good relation with the animal and it's permission) or aluminium foil. You can also extend your own aura to wrap around them, but that can have bad side effects. If you are good with symbols you can use these for protection.
3. Binding is best done via meditation which can be done by meditating with each card individually or with the deck as a whole. The most important part of the meditation being the creating of a link between the card(s) and the chakra's/energy centers which you want to use when reading them. If you don't want to read the energies of the cards, but just mentally want to work with their constellations you don't need to bind them to anything but your third eye.
4. Which powers you want to invite depends on the type of deck you are using and your personal connection with traditions. create a ritual circle, cleanse it , cleanse the cards and put them in the circle and request the powers to inhabit/empower the cards. Again this can be done card by card of with the deck as a whole. Some people ask their guide(s) to empower their cards.
5. Depending also on your choice in step four decide what type of reading you want to do. Past/present/future, development, surrounding forces, relational, magical, mystical or a combination.
I hope this helps, but it is a highly individual process and without more info about you and what you want i cannot be more specific.

Is it necessary for you to predict with your own tarot cards?
is it accurate and suitable for you to predict with someone elses tarot cards?
Is it necessary for you to predict with your own tarot cards?
Yes I've often used friend's tarot or oracle cards and got insightful readings.
It's not the cards that matter (they're just pieces of cardboard), but YOU.
Reply:A deck of cards is a deck of cards; the energy is within the person doing the reading. There are many misunderstandings and myths associated with Tarot.
As a reader of over 16 years, I have never fallen for any of the myths, yet I respect my fellow reader who does not like for other people to touch their deck.
If someone does not mind, then there is nothing stopping you from an accurate reading except yourself.
Reply:Are you asking if when you are reading for someone, you left your cards home, and want to barrow their cards? you really should stay with your cards. It is not a good idea to use someone elses. And most people won't let you anyway. I would feel very uncomfortable..Blessed Be

Tarot Cards!! I am starting Tarot Card readings, what would be a good set of cards & instruction book to get?
I am in my early teens and I want to start up Tarot Card readings, and what should I get? I don't want to spend more than $60 dollars on the whole thing, so what should I buy?? HELP please!!
Tarot Cards!! I am starting Tarot Card readings, what would be a good set of cards %26amp; instruction book to get?
I would start with The Original Raider Waite Tarot Pack which includes the cards and an instruction book. But I would also buy another book as well. Most books are based on Raider Waite deck which are ideal for beginners. But bear in mind that becoming a reader could take a very long time. It's not just a case of learning the meaning of each card as this changes depending on the other cards in a reading and the situation. You also have to use psychic ability in interpreting cards and this can take years to develop.
Reply:I’m a professional psychic and a psychics’ coach offering lessons on developing psychic abilities. To learn how to develop psychic ability you first need to know how to relax your mind to alpha state then you can practice with your Tarot Cards.
I call these brainwave levels between Alpha and Theta, in particular 7.8cps, the gateway to the Psychic Realms. The Earth’s heartbeat or pulse, known as the Schumann Resonance varies among geographical regions, but maintains an overall measurement of 7.8 cycles per second. Isn’t it interesting that when we relax and slow our brainwave frequency down to match the electromagnetic pulse of the planet we find ourselves, our deeper selves, meshing with the quantum soup, with the resulting psychic abilities?
You can go straight my free develop-psychic-ability page here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/develop-ps...
And here is my quick step-by-step script for accessing your alpha state of mind. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/alpha-stat... And you also will find a link for free download of an alpha entrainment MP3
Here is a free download demo for a great Tarot program. To keep the size of the demo manageable it contains the Rider/Waite deck, the actual program will have 10 complete decks. Does anyone read tarot cards?
i need some tips on how to read tarot cards for yourself. and possibilly some meaning of the cards or just hints in particular.
Does anyone read tarot cards?
I read from the Thoth tarot and it has a great book by Lon Milo Duquette called Understanding the Thoth Tarot. In it he lays out some of the basic structures of the cards and why they are what they are. One of the hardest things to do in all of Tarot is read accurately for yourself we get all over the cards and our wants just really mess us up. There is a great book by Mary Greer called Tarot for Yourself, that I highly recommend.
Depending on which deck you use many of them are set up along the Tree of Life. It works like a big cosmic filling cabinet in which you can use to figure out why cards mean what they mean. Really briefly all of the cards live inside the Fool. From there they are broken out into his/ her cosmic journey in the Major Arcana that can be viewed as a quest for the Holy Grail. Then you move to the crazy world of Court cards. They are just a pain. They can be broken up into elemental corrospondences by their rank and suit. So: Kinghts are fire, Queens are water, Princes are Air and Princesses are Earth. That means that the Knight of Wands is Fire of fire and Princess of Disks is Earth of Earth. The Aces contain all of the pip cards and are the beginning points. The pips are directly impacted by where they are on the Tree of Life.
All of this is a functional backdrop but sometimes the most information can be gleened by just looking at the card and figuring out what sort of story it is trying to tell you.
Good luck and enjoy the journey!

It takes years to understand the tarot, the best way to learn is one question at a time.

Should Tarot cards be sold in the USA for playing actual card games?
In European countries such as France, there are Tarot cards sold to play actual card games similar to Spades and Bridge. According to most historians, Tarot cards were originally intended for card games and not for divination. However in countries such as the US, Tarot cards are only sold for fortune telling purposes and most Americans only associate Tarot with divination. Do you believe this situation should change? Would you play actual card games with Tarot? Should Tarot publishers supply game rules with Tarot decks?
Should Tarot cards be sold in the USA for playing actual card games?
As a fan of card games, I agree with you. I have never played these games with tarot cards...perhaps someone could write a computer game baed on them...it sounds like it would be fun!
Reply:First there has to be a market for it. If it's not fun to play, people won't buy it. If people won't buy it, there's no point trying to sell it.
Reply:You'd think 'they' would have realized making it common would take away from the divination thing...but, maybe they sell more that way since it's viewed as an occult (rebellious) thing. Btw, there are soime beautiful decks out there.
Reply:If I remember right, Tarot originated as a game, and only later started to be used for divination purposes. So logically, that would make sense. Practically speaking, I don't find it important enough to get worked up about. ;-)

Reply:yes of course they should!

There are much more important things that should change first...
Reply:"should" they?
I could care less. "Will" they?
I'm sure they would in a heartbeat if they thought they would sell.

Which is the best deck of tarot cards to buy?
i really like the "gilded tarot cards", but are they worth $20? i would like something really pretty and beautiful that stand out, and are pretty intricate and pretty to amaze the person you're doing the reading for
i would also like to have cards that have all the cards, like the major and the minor, like pentacles, cups, wands, coins, and like judgement, justice...you get the point, is there also any really good beginner's book for tarot that will teach me some spreads and the meaning of each card?
Which is the best deck of tarot cards to buy?
As a tarot reader and collector, I have helped several people get started over the years. It seems eveyone is always drawn to a "special deck" that speaks to them. That's wonderful because you need a deck you connect with. The problem is that those decks are usually difficult for a beginner and they end up getting frustrated. I would recommend getting a Rider-Waite deck just for learning purposes. Once you feel comfortable with it, then switch back to the one you really love. Have fun!
Reply:Tarots usually come with a booklet. Whatever you do don't buy or use someone else's tarot, it's very bad luck.
Reply:wait and be patient......the best and most accurate cards for you to read will either be given to you or will "scream" to you from the rack
Reply:I really like this one deck called The Goddess Tarot deck, because it's easier to remember the major arcana. They don't have cards like "The Magician" but instead have a goddess that represents the concepts. It's easier to remember everything and thereby easier to read because you already know the stories associated with the goddesses.
It's also very pretty.
As for books, I can't help you there. I used the little instruction packet inside and my friends who read better than I do for help.
Reply:Rider-Waite is the most popular. But the French or Italian decks are more ornate. The best deck is the one you create for yourself. All the decks will have both the major and minor arcana in them along with an instruction booklet.
Reply:Buy the traditional Ryder Waite cards, they have everything you want on them not so pretty, but they have been used for years and years
Reply:Go to a good occult bookstore with a large variety of tarot cards. Ask to look at all of them. Touch them. Shuffle them. Look at them. Study them. Do whatever you have to, and sooner or later you'll get energy from one deck in particular. THAT's the one to buy.

Are you skilled with tarot cards?
My sister just got a deck of tarot cards, and wants to learn how to use them. Anyone here skilled with using them, and do you find readings to be accurate?
Are you skilled with tarot cards?
Hello No se
I have developed with the tarot for 20 years, they are a fantastic tool for self development, guidance, meditation %26amp; psychic growth. I now teach them.
Readings can be astonishly accurate - but you need patience to develope with them, so do not rush your journey with them.

I can't read for myself, my readings for me never make sense. But my readings for others get more and more accurate as the years go by. I find them quite accurate in many cases and haven't had anybody tell me, "No, that makes no sense to me" in years. One must keep practicing with them to start seeing results. Sometimes they are so accurate it's scary.... but in a good way.
Reply:Hi I play around with the tarot and I find it is a way to work through my thoughts. Tarot never gives you a simply yes or no answer but it will give you some insight. Here is a web-site link to a free explanation of each card and good advise on how to learn the tarot.

Best of luck, using the tarot in my life has broadened my out look on alot of things not just problems in my life.
Reply:usually there are instructions with the deck (If she bought them new). As for accurate, like the lady said there is never a true answer. Usually they are used as guides to learning about yourself and give possible paths which can change depending on what you do.
Reply:I am a Fortune Teller and the Tarot Cards are my favorite. Im still a beginner but when I do it for my friends about half of them are right sometimes all of them. Like when I got a lovers card which means you will have a long realation ship. Me and my boyfriend went out on 9/29/06 and were still going out today.
Reply:Throw away the book.
You take each card, look at it-and see what the symbols tell YOU or her in this case.
Is there a dog?
what's that mean to her?
Loyalty? Friendship? Faith?
or is she afraid of dogs? and the dog means
beware!!! or watch out!
What colours are in the cards? Does the colour depict a season? Orangey fall or white as winter?
Everything in a card is symbolic, and on ecard can have many meaning sto the reader, but which card falls beside the other is what is important.
I place three down each time -as they do with the past-present-future cards, though I place no timeline on them.
I use my intuition to guide me to which symbols to read and what they say all together-as though I were reading a story.
Double numbers can show a date- two 4's may be 4 weeks, 4 months the 4th, 4 people...
Study the book-for as far as it can take you, but then throw it aside and make the cards your own.
You should/or she should be studying online the symbols of different things-and energy is colours. Chakras too-Green is healing- if green comes upa lot, does someone need healing?
There's much to learn, just practice and use the intuition instead of reading a book everytime a card falls. Comes much easier.
Just remember that everything is symbolic, so death =change
Lovers= A love or a passion for something..sometimes the naked bodies can denote physical health Depending on the question being asked.

If you are learning to use the cards you will find how they can mean many different things.
If you are paying someone else to read them for you, be aware of fraud. Most people who read for money, and doing it "for money" and can not really be believed.
Learn the cards, at least a little bit, and you will see how other people interpret them may not be at all like what you see in them.

Any method of predicting the future (Tarot, etc) will take this into account and only tell your future as the TIME OF THE READING. So, when you leave the reading, you can alter that by changing an attitude or action addressed in the reading.
For example, if you have a reading that says that you will marry a particular type of person and you do not want to, change the type of people that you date!

Reply:In my experience, and what I teach my students, is that the cards are pretty much correct, though our interpretation of them may be faulty. There are times when the cards are not accurate, and this tends to be when a person 'loads' them with an expected outcome. In other words, a girl really stressed about her job can 'expect' bad news, and manipulate the cards subconsciously so that they can say all the bad things she expects to hear.
Yes, there are a lot of hucksters out there, and people need to be cautious. My general rule of thumb is don't overpay, and don't ask a lot of questions. If the psychic is a good one, they should be able to accurately speak about your past and current situation. If they are wrong about the past etc, they aren't likely to pick up your future accurately.

Can anyone out there read Tarot cards?
Judgement in the first position, upright. The Hanged Man in the second position, upright. The Stars in the third position, reversed. VERY IMPORTANT, serious replies only please!
Can anyone out there read Tarot cards?
Judgment in the first position means a great moment of change in your near past, of letting go of past wrongs and forgiving yourself for past sins.
The Hanged man in the second position speaks of a moment suspended in time. Now is the time to make yourself vulnerable and stop resisting the situation. In doing this things will be made clear. By no longer fighting the situation you will be open to the answer to your question.
the Star in the third position looks to the future. It doesn't predict immediate change but it does predict a time of hope and healing.
Be aware for you made find a helping hand if you are ready to accept it. Someone who will be your guiding light.
this is a positive reading in many ways. You should be prepared for a time of spiritual and emotional change because all these cards are major arcana.
Hope this helped, good luck.

Reply:Judgement - A big change in your recent past, likely of a spiritual nature. Maybe you are beginning to think more deeply about God or life in general.
The Hanged Man - A moment of calm. You know you have to make a decision but are carefully weighing your options beforehand.
The Star - You will be forced to make your decision sooner rather than later.

How do u use tarot cards?
I wanna know. If wanted to know for a while.
How do u use tarot cards?
Tarot has several ways you can lay the cards out. And if you don't have the meaning of the cards memorized, it's good to have a complete book about it with you. I've been doing card readings for a while. I made my own deck, which is advised to do and I choose 3 cards to represent what's going on and what's going to happen. Some people pick 3 cards to mean past, present, future...and so on. Millions of ways to read the cards. So, whatever's comfortable to you. Now, tarot isn't for telling the future. It's used to give you insight to you life in the present. But unless you read countless books about it, you'd be sterotyping it as a lot of people do.
Peace %26amp; Love,

Reply:I use them for my own personal path. I don't normally do readings for someone else. Everyday I at least draw one card from my deck to meditate on and on certain nights I do full readings for myself and my family. I also do readings when I have a strange feeling that something is happening that I should be warned about. 90% of the time what I read is what is happening.
Reply:Most book stores sell tarot cards with instructions. You just have to memorise the meanings of each card, and the meanings of the positions they can be placed in, then use you own intuitive abilities to read what they are saying. Practice, practice, practice; it's very addictive.
Although, be warned, supposedly it is bad luck to buy tarot cards for yourself, they should be a gift.
Reply:1st-get a deck that appeals to you(but have someone get it for you, you can give them the cash for it) it's for good luck.
2nd-Look at each card and wright down how you feel about it. What do you think it means.
3rd-Meditate to each card every night and study each one very carefully(wright dow what you think each one means.
4th-smudge your deck after each reading.
You can also get lessons to learn how to do it too.
Good Luck and Best Wishes.
Reply:A tarot deck consists of 78 cards that you lay out in any one of a number of spreads. Each card is symbolic of an energy or spiritual truth, its relevance depending upon its position in the spread. There are so many possible outcomes that tarot readers spend decades mastering the meanings of all the cards in all the different combinations. Books are one resource, but can only help so much.
Using the power of Synchronicity, Tarot taps both the subconscious and the superconscious Mind, the center of our psychic abilities. Anyone can become a good tarot reader. But a gifted reader of Tarot is far more than someone exercising innate psychic abilities. An appreciation of the power of the archetypes contained in the images on the cards demands a classical understanding. By bringing you this element, Tarot.com lets you give yourself good readings right off the bat and will lead to more accurate intuitive abilities over time.
Reply:Tarot cards conjure images of gypsy women, crystal balls and hocus pocus. It's hard to separate the cards from their long history. However, the tarot cards themselves are rather benign; their only power is the belief we place in them. And they fill a spectrum of needs, from an amusing hobby to a powerful tool for exploring the inner workings of our lives. There are no hard and fast rules for the care and reading of your cards, but these are some suggestions to get you started on your way.
Instructions
STEP 1: Get a deck of tarot cards. The Rider-Waite tarot deck is a good choice to start with. Shop online or at bookstores, which often carry tarot decks. STEP 2: Use a scarf or cloth and wrap your cards to create a safe and clean environment. You may also want to buy a special box in which to store your wrapped deck. STEP 3: Season your deck of cards by sleeping with the wrapped cards next to your heart or under your pillow for a week. Now you're ready to read! STEP 4: Concentrate on the question being asked, and shuffle the deck. You can mix the cards in a big pile using both hands, and then gather them up neatly and proceed with a regular card shuffle. STEP 5: Cut the deck. If reading for someone else, have him or her ask the question out loud as he or she cuts the deck. If you do the reading for yourself, ask your own question as you cut. STEP 6: Deal the cards using the tarot spread of your choice. A simple card spread is four cards in a diamond shape. STEP 7: Look first at the design on the cards. Cards that look right side up for the reader are in a positive position; cards that look upside down for the reader are reversed. Reversed cards indicate conflict or blocked energy or weaken the card's influence. STEP 8: Begin to learn the card meanings. Start with the Related Site, "Individual Tarot Cards," or a good book. STEP 9: Come up with your own card meanings and descriptions to personalize your reading style. Don't be afraid to follow your instincts. Tips %26amp; Warnings
In the four-card, diamond-shaped layout, card No. 1 at the top point of the diamond represents your romantic life. The next card, below card one on the right point, represents finances. The third card on the lower point of the diamond represents health and happiness. The fourth card, which is placed opposite card No. 2 on the left diamond point, represents career.
You may want to burn candles with your readings. You can choose a color or fragrance that is reflective of the questions you're asking or the mood you're seeking. Try blue candles for healing, patience, peace and happiness. Purple candles work in much the same way but also help for visualization and dreaming. Or burn green for prosperity and growth or black to absorb negativity.
It's uncertain just when tarot cards came into being, but they are the forefathers of our domesticated, four-suited deck of 52. The 78-card tarot deck is broken up into the Minor Arcana and the Major Arcana. The 22 Major Arcana Cards present the strongest messages and images and have the most to tell us. The Minor Arcana cards more resemble the deck we use today, with four suits; most often the deck depicts these suits as wands, cups, pentacles and swords.
Today, tarot card collecting and reading has become a popular hobby, there are hundreds of decks, with themes as diverse as goddesses and baseball.
You should be the only one to handle your deck unless you want the person for whom you're reading to shuffle or cut the deck.
Don't feel you must be a slave to a book. Let the cards speak to you.
Reply:I use mine as a distraction for my brain. Lay spreads while meditating on questions helps clear and focus my thoughts. Its surprising how often the vagueness of the cards mirror my own thoughts.
I mean, I know people who have done experiments of sorts, not accepting money with a high success rate as the people they read for made their lives fit the cards.

When using Tarot cards, how do you determine "when" when answering a Q that askes for a time frame?
I'm learning tarot. I was curious how you are able to read a time frame when it comes to questions that ask for when is something going to happen. I'd like to hear some examples of how you get a feeling for the time frame. Thanks!
An example would be like "When will I get married?"
When using Tarot cards, how do you determine "when" when answering a Q that askes for a time frame?
Questions of time are some of the hardest to answer and I usually refuse to give one because most of the people I read for tend to over look the whole "my future isn't written" aspect.
Usually if I get pestered for a timeframe I'll toss another card or two (my spreads get littered with cards, unlike what you may read in how-to books) and give them a frame based between the two events in the cards.
As to your example, the answer I would give to your question would be "when you're ready". Not concrete but then I'm not a weathergirl :)
Reply:It is best to ask the Tarot specific questions, so if you want a date, then you should ask a date. For example:
-What will my day be like - Morning, Afternoon, Evening; or
-What will happen in the next three days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; or
-What will happen in the next three weeks - this week, next week, and the week after that; or
-What will happen in the next three months - August, September, October; etc.
Reply:Use a tarot deck, but remove the Majors Arcana %26amp; the Pages.
Shuffle and draw a card. They are ranked thus:
A, K, Q, Kn, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2
After Fr. Johann Ingold, each card in the deck represents a week in the year, and each suit a season. For example, cups could be fall; wands, summer; pentacles, spring; swords, winter.
The Aces are the equinoxes %26amp; the solstices. Subsequent cards stand for the weeks following them. For example, a 7 of Wands would be a time frame within the 8th week after the summer solstice.
Reply:They are right , the more specific the better. How I try to figure out a time line is looking at all the cards given in the answer, evaluate the meaning of the cards to the question asked.
In general try not to ask for yes or no answers and vauge questions. wont get a good answer back.
Reply:You can define the time line in the spread itself. For instance, you can determine before beginning with the reading that the last position (usually the "outcome" or "result" position in a spread) indicates so many weeks/months from now on. That gives you a good time-frame to work "in". If you used the Celtic Cross, for example, the 10th position could indicate the outcome of the situation within the next 3 months (or 6 months, or whatever time-line you'd like to set).
Now, if you wish to answer questions similar to the one you posed "Qhen will I get married?", there are several things I can think of. Keep in mind though that providing a "hard %26amp; 100% accurate" time-line can be very tricky - but, just give it a try and see what works for you:
a) read the card
Draw one card (or pick the outcome card, and look at it if you choose to use a larger spread). Look at that card. it's best to use a deck that has scenes and images on the Minor Arcana as well, and not just the suit symbols (like the Rider Waite Smith, or similar, is good for this method). If, for instance, you picked the Sun, you could associate it with Summer. So, the answer would be during Summer. If you picked the 4 of Wands, it might occur during a holiday season - or whatever you associate with the picture. Be spontaneous and use your intuition with this. It might sound very vague and "unscientific", but I heard other Tarot readers have good results with it.
b) seasonal associations
This works mostly with the the Minor Arcana, but you could use the Astrological associations of the Major Arcana as well as a rough time-line. Depending on how the suits are associated in your system, you could say, for instance:
Cups - Spring
Wands - Summer
Swords - Autumn
Pentacles - Winter
Just an example. Feel free to switch the cards / seasons around until they feel right to you. That gives you a seasonal choice.
c) time association
Another method is to work with the Minor Arcana again, this time associating actual "time lines" with them. The system I know of is as follows:
Cups - days
Wands - weeks
Swords - months
Pentacles - years
The number on the card indicates how many days/weeks/months/years. Example: 2 of Cups - 2 days; 10 of Wands - 10 weeks. Pages are 11, Knights 12, Queens 13, Kings 14.
Hope this gives you something to work with. Experiment which method works best for you. :)

How to read tarots cards in groups?
What is an easy way to remember your tarot cards? Thank you?
Sketch them down in a journal after the reading. I did that once last year as the images were still vivid in my mind after the session. Then jot down some key points, key words associated with each card position. That should make for easy reference the next time you flip through the pages.
Personally, i wouldnt recommend group readings because the energies get messed up with so many people's different vibes and issues to sort out. But generally, a group reading is similar to that of a private reading but may be better for someone who's nervous about a one-on-one consultation.

As for reading in groups, that really isn't the purpose of tarot. That wouldn't be a serious reading. If you only want to entertain and impress your friends, you can just make stuff up.
If you are serious, a good book is Tarot: Plain and Simple. Throw away the little booklet that came with the cards. It's mostly useless.

Reply:If you can handle playing cards, you can learn the minor arcana cards. As for the major arcana, the cards tell a story of the fool's journey. If you can remember the story and see it from the perspective of the traveler, it may be easier to remember.
Practice makes perfect with reading the cards in groups. It is about letting yourself see what needs to be seen more than what you want to see, when it comes to reading the cards.

How do you start the energy for the tarot cards? Thank you?
I don't read, but my grandmother was a reader. She would do the "circle of light"--imaging herself encircled by golden light-- and pray for protection from evil spirits...
She kept her cards in a tarot bag with a kyanite rock (to absorb bad energy...)
She also drank a flask of vodka every day, but I think that was for "medicinal" purposes... :)
Blessings to you.
Reply:When I do them. I ask only for my highest good to let the energy in. Think only white light, and the cards that you need to pick will be picked
Reply:Normally you should be alone with the person asking the questions at first. Light a few candles. Try to find out what each colour of each candle represents. Keep a quiet environment ,no t.v. You can put a little relaxing music! That should do it. But keep in mind that not every body can do this and it can take a few shots before you get results. Have fun.

I light a candle.....the colour of your choice (not black though).
Must have quiet surroundings.
Light the candle.
Shuffle the Tarot Cards.
Lay them out and choose one.
I take about 2-3 minutes just looking at the card.
Usually I am drawn to a particular feature of the card.
I find things just pop into my head.
Really incredible.
Always wrap the cards in something dark when you store them.

Make up stories for each card. Different decks make it easier than others and different decks will resonate with your psyche better than others so look around before you commit to one that you can't work well with. But the more in depth the story is that ties in the symbolism of the card to the meaning its supposed to portray-the easier it will be to remember it whenever you draw it.
Reply:practice makes perfect. I like nordic runes, they're pretty tricky to remember too.

How do you develope your psychic abilities to read people without tarot cards or any tools?
I have been reading the Tarot for about 7 years. I have for the past two years been working with reading auras and talking to spirits. When I read the tarot I only use the pictures as triggers to start the film reel in my head which gives me the information I need. I was trying to find a catalyst to receive the information without having to use any tools such as Tarot cards.
How do you develope your psychic abilities to read people without tarot cards or any tools?
Start thinking magickally.
No matter what you do or where you are, think of everything that captures your attention as a message from the universe. Try to sense what it is saying to you. In this way, you will help develop the mindset that allows the film reel to start on its own. At the moment it seems tied to your cards.
Reply:Try reading a good physcology book. You can tell a lot more about people if you know physcology.

Tarot card question for someone who knows what the cards mean. I got the one with the guy pointing the sword?
I got a reading 10 years ago, and remember it now because many things from the reading have come true. I got the guy pointing the sword towards the sky in victory for the final card in the center spot. I don't the name of the card, the reader said this was the perfect card to get in the perfect spot. Wondering if there is any tarot card confirmed rule that this is in fact an awesome card to have for the final center spot. Again i don't know the card placement it went in a box with the final card filling the center. Question is this really the sickest card to get in the sickest spot? Any internet data as backup is appreciated to backup any answers.
Tarot card question for someone who knows what the cards mean. I got the one with the guy pointing the sword?
It's difficult for me to know exactly which card you are referring to, only because there are so many different types of decks.
Rule of thumb, there are four different suits for the minor arcana (or lesser cards). They are penctacles (sometimes refered to as coins), cups, wands (sometimes refered to as sticks) and swords (sometimes refered to as knives).
Cups (or as in a playing deck of cards) are considered Hearts (things with love attached to them).
Swords (or as in a playing deck of cards) are considered Spades (things which need to be addressed in your life, which need to be turned around - swords are considered warning cards - they also stand for confilict, obstacles and aggression.) Depending on the other cards in the spread, these cards when received in the Royal aspect of the card (King, Queen, Jack as know as the Knight) are for logic and thoughtful attention to all sides of the issues at hand).
Pentacles (or as in a playing deck of cards) are considered diamonds (which refers to the financial aspects of your life).
Wands (or as in a playing deck of cards) are considered clubs (which refers to growth, ambition and development).
If you go to Borders Books, going into the section marked "New Age", they should have a book called "Complete Idiots Guide To Tarot". This book is very helpful to "newbies" who are interested in learning the Tarot. This books uses the Ryder-Waite Tarot Deck (which is the most universal and standard of all the decks which are available today).
Have a lovely rest of the day. Bright Blessings.

Reply:Given the sparce describtion you give, I am guessing you are refering to the Knight of Swords. It represents a man under the age of 40 who is both impulsive/compulsive and a creative organizer/planner/builder with a good heart. From the interpretation you were given, I highly suspect your reader was/is female. I believe the ultimate interpretation must come from YOUR subconcious mind or spirit, not the READER's subconcious mind/spirit. I do not believe in trusting someone who does not want you to touch their cards or plants an interpretation from their spirit/mind instead of drawing it from YOU.

How do you start the energy for the tarot cards? Thank you?
grateful for any hints. Thank you so much. Geniune replies only
How do you start the energy for the tarot cards? Thank you?
When I get a new tarot deck, whether I buy it myself or someone gives me one, I take it out of the box and smudge the deck with sage (to cleanse it) and shuffle away. Then wrap the deck in a a 100% silk cloth/scarf.
When beginning a reading I shuffle and ask that whatever needs to be revealed will be. I then hand the deck over to the person I'm doing the reading for and have them concentrate on their question and shuffle for as long as they feel necessary. When they are done shuffling, I tell them to make three piles, and then choose the pile they want me to use for the reading.
Reply:The energy is all yours, dear. You focus on what you are asking the cards and then, by handling them, having your mind clearly focused and interpreting what they tell you, you have your answer. If you are doing a reading for someone else, it is helpful to have them touch the cards (or I find it is helpful to touch them), but it is not necessary.
Reply:the energy comes from you and passes to the cards, the only time anyone else should touch your cards is when they shuffle them for a reading. hold your cards, shuffle your cards, meditate with them. the more you use them the more energy they will have.
Reply:The more you handle the cards, and explore the imagery, the more they will acquire your energy. The cards need to be in sync with you for you to read well. Many people have recommended sleeping with them under your pillow at night.
Reply:You have the subject shuffle the cards and instruct them to concentrate on themselves and their questions as they do it and then you tell them to cut the deck when they are done.
Hey, is there any curriculum in a University to get a degree to become a medium or is it just self proclaimed?
An artist who is paid to do their work has an a tangible product, a dancer has an tangible performance, a self proclaimed psychic uses "right of say so" with words you connect in your own mind to be true. Here is a Tarot reading by Chris Angel.

Reply:Good news there is really nothing special you have to do to get them started. We can all read them and there is nothing spectacularly special about that either. They are just divine harmonics in action.
I like to think of the cards and the energy flow like a tuning fork to an instrument. The cards have energy and you have energy, so the trick is getting them in the same vibration pattern. There is no set way to tune them, but certainly working with them and looking at each one carefully helps you to get to know them.
When you first get them take them out and separate out all of the instructions and other cards out. Most decks have 78 cards divided up into the Major Arcana (22), the court cards and the 4 suits. One you have taken them all out and looked at them you will just want to work with them until patterns start emerging to you. It is just a matter of learning to listen to the "music".
Enjoy the journey!
Reply:It's not the cards energy, it's your energy that's important. Since you are made up of energy-you start it by shuffling , handling, touching the cards.
Reply:Make sure you have whoever you are using the cards for to cut the deck 3 times. It makes the cards realize who it needs to focus on.

What's your opinion on getting a first deck of tarot cards? Bad to buy yourself or myth?
A few people have told me buying my own tarot cards isn't good while others have told me it's a myth and it's a good idea to buy your own tarot cards because than you are comfortable with the style of card.
If you have tarot cards how did you receive them and what do you believe in?
Thanks
What's your opinion on getting a first deck of tarot cards? Bad to buy yourself or myth?
I'd focus on what you like -- what would you rather use, a deck you love, or one that was given to you that you just don't resonate with? Myself, I would prefer to forgo the myth and choose something I was comfy with.
What do I believe? I believe that they help us focus on different aspects of our life -- even if it is just our own subconscious and nothing 'extra' in the spirit realm
Reply:I bought my own. There's a lot of mystism surrounding the cards, like sleeping with them under your pillow and charging them in a variety of ways, but my take is that they are an incredible collection of archtypes and metaphors that allow you to free associate and see your life and the lives of others from different perspectives.
I recommend Rachel Pollack's book, "78 Degrees of Wisdom"
Thoth deck.

Reply:As a game, and pretend, it's great. Just don't fool yourself into thinking that they are anything more than pretend.

What is an easy way to remember your tarot cards? Thank you?
Tarot cards MEAN something? I thought they just randomly said something to you that had some kind of relevance to your life, like "The Queen of Hearts means you have love in the air". Or "The Jack of Spades means your friend will betray you.". BALONEY!!!!!
Reply:Traditional spacing of the cards.
N'Olean cut.
Left hand.
And faces matter.
Reply:Personally i feel that alot is to do with interpretation of the group.
If you have a feeling about a certain group based on prehaps some basic guidelines then you wont need to rote learn the meaning of every possible combination.
Not everyone gets that feeling

Has anyone ever gotten an accurate reading from tarot cards? If so, what was it? Do you believe the tarot cards helped?
Tarot Cards?
Tarot is very vague, like horoscopes. If they work at all, it is by harnessing the subconscious. I used to use them a lot. I found myself trying again when I didn't get what I wanted to hear. For myself, I tend to use such things when I'm in the midst of an anxiety attack, looking for quick reassurance. They might be good for forcing you to contemplate your own situation - like having a friend with a different point of view - but I don't think there's anything supernatural to them.

I wouldn't bother going to anyone else to read them for you. You'll get more out of it to read them yourself. I like psycards alot. They're easier to read than tarot, Tarot is wonderful, but it's complex and it takes awhile to learn. Psycards you can use and read immediately.

Tarot Cards?
Is there anyone who knows how to read tarot cards that would like to do mine for me? It's been a long time since I've had them done and I went to an online tarot site, but since I dont know how to read them, I couldnt interpret the cards right. It's a just for fun thing, but if someone could help me, that would be awesome :-)
Tarot Cards?
Babe, no matter what people say, if you are a true medium and read tarot cards, you cannot read your own cards, sorry, but each one of them will tell you that if they are honest. Simply put, there are things that you need to be told and you don't want to believe them or hear them when it comes from you. Some of us call it the Casandra curse/spell whatever. She was the priestest of Troy that predicted it's fall was laughed at and cursed all mediums and psychic never to be belived or to read their own futures. And unfortunately it still holds today as we are often made fun of, tisk.
However I would be happy to read your cards for free. I will draw four for ya as I usually draw four for online readings, let me know how I did ok.
Three jumped out at me so I will do those cards for ya first
The first card is the World. You feel that the world has come in on ya and is doing ya wrong. You feel sorta blamed for things that you are not, never have been , or will never do. Someone close to you is behind this and is stirring the pot of those that are standing against you. Beware not all are listening to them, but watching your actions upon this and judging you accordingly.
The next card is the hangedman upside down. You want to be free of this and you are gaining anger from it. Calm yourself, meditate, go for a walk, stay away from those in gossip right now. If they are bringing gossip to your door, they are taking back what you say to those that they are gossiping about. Keep your mouth closed and your eyes wide open.
The next card is the Seven of Wands. You feel that you are having to fight to be heard. That those that are standing agianst you just won't give up. These are reeds in the wind hun. The more power you give them when you fight back, they harder they will come against you, stop fighting back, take yourself out of it, and they will come to see the truth as it really is.
The last card is the Two of Pentacles. You have a great decision to make upon this situation. Which way you go is ultimately up to you. However, you must look to the way that bestowes peace and harmony on this. Some are looking to you to be the peacemaker, however, if you can't be the peacemaker in this, take the other road and leave it behind.
Thats all I have for ya, hope that it helps.
Reply:I'm sry but this chick isn't accurate. you won't be able to read yourself because your emotions may influence the cards and change the results not because of a curse and only a true tarot reader would make the reading private only for the questioner to see Report Abuse
