What's your opinion on getting a first deck of tarot cards? Bad to buy yourself or myth?

A few people have told me buying my own tarot cards isn't good while others have told me it's a myth and it's a good idea to buy your own tarot cards because than you are comfortable with the style of card.


If you have tarot cards how did you receive them and what do you believe in?

What's your opinion on getting a first deck of tarot cards? Bad to buy yourself or myth?
I'd focus on what you like -- what would you rather use, a deck you love, or one that was given to you that you just don't resonate with? Myself, I would prefer to forgo the myth and choose something I was comfy with.





What do I believe? I believe that they help us focus on different aspects of our life -- even if it is just our own subconscious and nothing 'extra' in the spirit realm
Reply:I bought my own. There's a lot of mystism surrounding the cards, like sleeping with them under your pillow and charging them in a variety of ways, but my take is that they are an incredible collection of archtypes and metaphors that allow you to free associate and see your life and the lives of others from different perspectives.
