Are tarot cards safer to use than the ouija board?

I've heard several people saying that after they tried the oiuija board various bad incidents started to occur in their life, so I would not want to test my luck with it. However, I was wondering if tarot cards are the safer alternative or if they can also attract "negative" spirits? What things can be done before/after/during a reading to ensure that no negativity is involved and that only positive guidance is summoned up?

Are tarot cards safer to use than the ouija board?
The Ouija has never proved to be of any real value in my years of psychic research. But it can bring fear into its players when the odd unenlightened spirit drifts in through the doorway you unexpectedly open.

The many different tarot decks based upon the Rider Waite deck will all portray symbolic imagery which must then pass through your psychic senses and, given the context of the questions asked, bring forth a tarot card meaning that significantly answers your question.

If you are using Tarot cards as an oracle, you may be more inclined to read card meanings and spreads. But if using Tarot Cards as a tool for Psychic Ability you would be less likely to hold to any hard and fast guide lines. I’m a profession psychic and use Tarot Cards in a random way. In 25 years of professional readings I’ve never used any ‘meanings, spreads or reversals’ of tarot cards from any books.

So if you want to develop ‘Psychic Ability’ throw the books and guidelines away and let the images inspire you. But you may need to try the Rider Waite or another imaged deck.

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense. The Psychic Sense.

To tap in to it more you can go to my free develop-psychic-ability page here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/develop-ps...

But on the other hand, if you want to use the Tarot as an oracle, a form of divination that needs no real ‘psychic ability’, then keep the books and use the meanings and spreads if you prefer.

Here is a free download demo for a great Tarot program. To keep the size of the demo manageable it contains the Rider/Waite deck, the actual program will have 10 complete decks. This Demo version of Tarot is a full working copy for 30 days. So you get 30 days to study meanings and spreads! http://www.free-tarot-download-demo.wots...
Reply:Ouija Boards are nothing more than what you THINK they are. If people had "bad luck", or "bad things" happen to them, it's totally because they thought they would. Try the Virtual Tarot Cards online. There are some free sites.
Reply:I wouldnt use them at all or the Ouija Board. Years ago I read a Book about how to tell Fortunes by Ordinary Playing Cards and so I Experimented by telling my Fathers Fortune and the Ace of Spades came up the Death Card . I got a shock mumbled something made an excuse and put the cards away my Father said nothing , But my Mother Queried me and so I owned up to Her she just nodded at me and said nothing. A few Monthes later my dad started getting Fits and going Unconcious, He died a Week later in Hospital it was from lack of Oxygen going to the Brain Due to Bronchitis Emphysemia. I prefer not to know what the Future is now , I wouldnt go near Cards or anything else now no way.
Reply:As the occult has a TREMENDOUS effect on the human psyche, I will tell you from personal experience, neither is "safe", nor is anything related to the occult in general. It really all depends on how strong your resolve is and how well equipped you are to deal with what you experience.

I have seen things and experienced things that most people would kill themselves over. I have communicated with insane things that are not truly human and apparently never have been. You would be amazed at how strong these things can be, so if you play with things you do not understand be preparred for the worst, but keep in mind, your results will be minimal until you take it seriously, show caution, and learn how to use it.
Reply:Ouija boards are pure evil!!!! tarot cards are your best bet but they have to be used properly
Reply:There is no safe or unsafe choice. You alone can decide whether the experience is safe or not. There is alot of speculation around both Ouija and Tarot. The best advice anyone can truly give is to monitor your reasons for venturing into the unknown. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You cannot know the outcome until you try the experiment.
Reply:I've sat in at Oiuija boards sessions, and the only thing I experienced was amusement (for myself) and a sense of fear (in others). This is the danger, that people take these things seriously, leading to real consequences. I have never seen anything happen that could be explained as supernatural. My friends say things like "but didn't you feel the hair standing up on end at the back of your neck"? And I tell them that it was because they were scared of something happening - not because something actually happened. I felt nothing unusual. As for Tarot cards, they are a waste of time, other than for entertainment. A work colleague went to have her cards read every couple of months, just as reassurance that things were going to be fine. One day she had a car accident and died. No-one saw that coming.

Sorry to be harsh, but fortune telling is for the gullible, and for people who need reassurance which they could easily find in themselves with little effort. It is aimed at people who are willing to part with their money.

What do you think all the mystics were doing before they opened up phone tarot card hotlines at $5 per minute?
Reply:Tarot cards do not use spirits at all as a way to see future trends. They use the energy of the person you are performing the reading for. They are entirely different than ouija boards and do not create negative energy unless the asker is harboring negative energy. Then you might have a very difficult time getting their energy off of your cards. You should always clean your cards by smudging them with sage before and after each use, and many people who read cards leave stones on the deck to help clear their energy. I do this, personally, and it works well.

Reply:NEVER EVER EVER USE OUIJA BOARDS! Just try out Tarot cards if you must... but if you really want answers... figure them out yourself. The answers are there... you just have to look for them.

Ouija boards have caused bad incidents for tons of people; they drive (believe it or not) bad spirits to people and cause bad things to happen. NEVER use them... I'm not sure about Tarot cards... but I'd stay away from them if I were you... they're smetimes considered unholy.
Reply:Here's the thing. With a ouija board, you're actively saying, "Hey, spirits! C'mere a minute!" Inviting them in, you know? But with Tarot cards, you're using the cards to access your own subconscious wisdom, your own connection to universal consciousness, so you aren't inviting anything in. I've never had a problem with Tarot cards, and I've been using them on and off for over 15 years.
Reply:Psychics, mediums, and ghosts have become a sensation in our culture today. As a result, there are many confusing and deceptive beliefs in our society. Most people we know have these questions:

Do ghosts in any shape or form exist?

Why is there a rise in psychic phenomena today?

What do psychics believe about God?

What is Satan’s role with the paranormal?

How can parents protect their family from the psychic trend?

How DO you counterattack the supernatural bombardment our modern world undergoes? There is a GREAT book recently released: The Truth Behind Ghosts, Mediums %26amp; Psychic Phenomena - it provides ample, relevant warnings and ammunition. Opening with dramatized examples of people who have sought psychic help, this book gives lucid accounts of the various types of psychic information flooding our lives, from TV shows like Ghost Whisperer and movies like The Sixth Sense to paranormal education courses in local schools; from psychic fairs and retreats to occult board games like Bloody Mary.

You owe it to yourself to KNOW the TRUTH before you do anything that pertains to the occult!
Reply:The hype around Ouija boards is way over done. But if YOU feel more comfortable with the Tarot, than use them. Think of any divination or spell like driving a car.You must be buckle your seat belt and keep your eyes on the road. Also you must know how to drive. So the first thing you must ask is do you know how to do divination? Have you studied magickal theory or practice? If not, pick up a book like Edain McCoy's Making Magick. Learning about magick and divination will also help you learn how to focus and protect yourself.
Reply:Since you're asking and are probably not a skeptic, I was watching Sylvia Brown, a psychic, on the Montel show last week and she said that Ouija boards we're like a portal for the demented spirits, or something of that nature. So, any kind of messages you get with the boards usually aren't true but are pretty spooky. I haven't heard anything on tarot cards but, even if they do attract "negative spirits," just put them away and be done with it-- I'm pretty sure they have to leave once the item is done being used.
Reply:As someone who has used tarot for over 20 years, I would say that I have experienced no ill effects from them. Tarot is not a form of spiritism the same way that ouija is.

And saying a prayer for guidance can't hurt before doing a reading. Just remember that even if you don't like what is in the reading, that does NOT make it negative. Would you consider a red light negative?

I'm sure that there are those out there with religious objection to any form of Oracle, but oracles are a long standing part of honoring the Divine and even make an appearance in the Bible....
Reply:just imagine a white protective light around all who are involved and call in higher level spirits.......... they are fine... tarot cards..not the boards...don't mess with them!

blessed be
Reply:Ouija boards and Tarot cards two different animals. They don't serve the same purpose.

Ouija boards are meant to communicate with the spirit world, while Tarot cards give you insight to your subconscious. So, there aren't spirits involved when it comes to Tarot cards.
Reply:personally i like the ouija board better, nothing bad has ever happened to me after using it
Reply:I have worked with ouija boards and tarot cards lots over the years and neither one has caused an injury. I suppose a card could give you a paper cut, but a board could be easily slipped on if left on the floor. Yeah, I'd avoid the ouija board.

Seriously, if enter any psychic session with a negative attitude, any negative preceding events will appear to be caused by the session. If you have bad feelings about ouija boards, don't use them. In themselves, they are no more or less dangerous than any other psychic tool. It's all in how you approach it.
Reply:I'm pretty sure everyone has at least a few bad things happen to them throughout the course of their life. I doubt using a Ouija board had anything to do with it. I used to play with one regularly - the only bad thing it did to me was to give me a false (but temporary) hope that I'd one day marry a man named Rql Tdt.
Reply:Honestly I would not do either. This is a true story okay, my best friend died a year and a half ago, she drowned. And her mother told me that it was so weird because her sister and her were doing tarot cards and she kept getting the death card and she kept doing it over and over and kept getting it, this was about a month before she died. Then when she got home, she was so scared she had her mom read her palm, because she used to be into stuff like that, and she said that her life line was very short and choppy at the end, indicating an early death. And she did die at 16. That reallllly freaked me out. And not that I would have done any of those things before but DEFINITELY would not do it now
Reply:Yep, I think so. Ouija boards are supposed to be communicating with spirits, and Tarot isn't.
Reply:I would definately say no, if you do some research you will find out that astrology, the use of TAROT CARDS, crystal gazing, palmistry, and the search for mysterious omens, or signs, in dreams, all fall under divination. Divination is an attempt to find out about the future or about something unknown. Many people think that practicing divination is harmless, the Bible shows that fortune-tellers and wicked spirits work together. A bible example of this is found in Acts 16:16-18 which mentions “a demon of divination” that enabled a girl to practice “the art of prediction.” But she lost this ability when the demon was cast out of her. i just thought you might like to know that and find it interesting. I hope this helps. oh and i believe tarot cards are also associated with the occult which is something i would definitely stay away from.
Reply:Tarot cards can conjure up evil spirits. You should not mess with these things as they are evil. I have played with both. Please stay away from them.
Reply:yeah tarot cards are safer
