What is the best way of getting rid of tarot cards?

my mum plays tarot and i'm curious on how to get rid of it, hope you can help me.

What is the best way of getting rid of tarot cards?
burn them.
Reply:Ooh why would you want to get rid of 'em? I think they're cool. I'm not sure I believe in them or anything or that they work, but it's just fun to try and predict your future. And even if they end up not being real, at least you had fun =D.
Reply:Step 1: find the trash can.

Step 2: put them in.
Reply:I don't think its up to you to take it upon yourself to get rid of your moms stuff. When you are adult, just don't have tarot cards in your place, or anything else you don't want.
Reply:Burn them. They are evil! If you want to read the real truth, Read the Bible. God"s word is pure, and true.
Reply:Leave her be. It isn't like she's comunicating with Satan.
Reply:Eh how would you like it if your mum starting throwing out your personal belongings? Shes hardly sacrificing babies to the devil now, is she?
Reply:first tarot cards are not for playing with...

second leave your moms stuff alone, if it violates your religious morals then leave the house....
Reply:Sell them on Ebay. If you're going to get rid of them, at least try to make a buck off of them.
Reply:"The name of the Lord Jesus went on being magnified. And many of those who had become believers would come and confess and report their practices openly. Indeed, quite a number of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them up before everybody. And they calculated together the prices of them and found them worth fifty thousand pieces of silver." -- Acts 19:17-19

Reply:Firstly, your mother has to be the one to get rid of them, evil as they are. If you get rid of them then she will be angry with you and will buy more.

IF she wants to get rid of them, then she should burn them, and then needs to pray for release from any evil associated with them.

I would advise that you pray about this, and let your mother know that you are very uncomfortable about her reading tarot cards. I used to have a deck myself, and although I didn't realise it until later, they were a very oppressive influence in my life.

Blessings, Gypsy Queen
Reply:Ok, you throw them away.... now, when your mom sees they're gone, what do you think she's going to do? Buy more. Maybe you should talk to your mom? Do you know what Tarot is?
Reply:put them in to an envelope with $2000 cash and send them to me. I will put them in my tarot card disintegrator and that will save you
Reply:Wait.. the cards belong to someone else, namely your mother, and you're going to get rid of them? Is she giving you permission to do this?

If not, then...If someone threw away something that belonged to you without your permission, how would you feel?

If she wants to get rid of them, she simply has to throw them out. They are a tool, not a live entity.
Reply:they aren't yours... leave them alone you twit.
Reply:Um, if it's not her idea to get rid of them, DON'T touch your mom's things! How would you like it if she wanted to "get rid of" something of yours without permission? You are being extremely inconsiderate and rude.
Reply:Why don't you eat them?

... Or shove them up your ar5e?

Either way, I hope you gratuitous paper-cuts and die of blood-loss.

If your mother uses tarot cards then that is HER business and not yours. You have no right to stop her from using them, so I recommend you don't bother...
Reply:Unless she has asked you to get rid of them (specifically), don't touch them, they're not yours.

Basic respect of another person's property, and all.
Reply:Burn them up. Satan and the demons gain direct access to people through such stuff.
Reply:Burn them..Any articles, books ect used for witch craft should be burned..
Reply:Accidentally drop ketchup on them and glue. She won't touch them again...
Reply:I'm more than willing to bet there is a trash bin in your house somewhere.

That ol' thing will do the trick.
Reply:Throwing them in the bin should work fine.

How do i convince my parents that i can use Tarot cards and that there not fricken evil!!!!!!?

it wasn't intill the time the telephone was invented that they took there super natural aspect and all the research i have done says they were made for games and weren't made for with craft and evil spirits and all that crap but my parents won't listen! they don't even take us to church for heavens sake! ugh i need help and back up

How do i convince my parents that i can use Tarot cards and that there not fricken evil!!!!!!?
Because it's their beliefs, they won't be easily swayed. Let them believe what they want, it's their choice. Your best bet is to just practice developing your skills in private, away from them. Take it from me, daughter of a mother who believes that everything is satanic... it can get pretty annoying.
Reply:Anything that is not Judeo-Christian base that wants you to put your faith in is usually considered evil, with the exception of another religion. That is what is taught. Horoscopes, astrology, crystal balls all fall under this scope. Your parents are coming from "who do you put your faith in?", and your back up is this: Mom, Dad, I love you and you're my parents, but where is this family's faith? You don't go to church, you haven't taught me the path you want me to follow; therefore, I am finding out on my own. Am I wrong? And, umm, do it politely without any tone....parents no like that.
Reply:You don't you must take you parents into a dark room and try to kill them if you do not succeed run away from home! Or start a family with a chicken or a cow.
Reply:I don't think you can convince your parents.

They disapprove because they are ignorant to the tarrot card culture.

It doesn't mean they are wrong, it just means they are not versed.

My advice would be to just do your thing without them knowing.
Reply:Just use the Tarot on-line or keep the cards hidden from them.
Reply:It will not be easy to convince them to change their beliefs on this and they may have some Biblical quotes about the "evils" of Divination. I would just tell them that not everyone believes spirits control the cards. Some believers in tarot think they work not because spirits direct your hand, but because your subconscious is giving you the answer. The subconsious mind knows a lot that the conscious mind is not aware of. Some people will say this subconsious information is (either always or sometimes) psychic in nature, while others might argue that it isn't psychic, but is simply clues or knowledge you have picked up in non-psychic ways. Anyway, I do believe in psychic abilities. I think the information coming through can be partially psychic sometimes, but not always, and also is partially or at times, completely, based on knowledge picked up in non psychic ways. This information is sometimes not introduced to the consious brain, and I think the cards help it come out. I suppose technically, there has to be some psychic ability involved since even if you didn't psychically interprit the correct answer and just based it solely on other (as in non-psychic) subconscious knowledge (as opposed to psychic, but subconsious knowledge), you still would have to psychically sense what cards you were holding in order to get the right cards to show up in the right place in the spread. I do believe more psychically sensitive people, and also people whose psychic abilities are at a high for them (some people's spike at times, drop at others) do better readings, but that is just my opinion. Other people will tell you ghosts or demons do it, of course, but I don't believe that, even though I do believe in spirits. Anyway, other people will say it is just for fun and doesn't even work, or that it is so generalized it'd work for anything. I don't think it is that generalized, though, but that is just my opinion.

Anyway, point being tell your parents you don't think it even works, and it is just for fun (you apparently think this since you said it was for games, or at least want them to think you believe this), but that even if it does work it is because of your own knowledge of things. To me, if people have psychic abilities, I think that we were programmed to have them by whatever made us. So, if God made us, I would think God gave us those abilities. Also, tell them you will not take the word of the cards as definite truth, so they won't worry they will mislead you and cause you to do something crazy. Assure them that you know they aren't always accurate and that there are certain things you would never do or believe anyway- in other words, you're not going to kill someone because of something the cards said.

Honestly, even if you do think they work, that is no reason to think they can never be wrong. If they were read by spirits, they could prob. lie. I think our subconsious does it, but even then, your subconsious can make mistakes and get the wrong answer. Plus, sometimes, your subconsious may not even have a clue as to what the answer is, or your psychic sense of the cards may be off, so then the reading may just be random and meaningless and wrong. I am not knocking the cards, but if they say something that sounds totally wrong, consider that they might be. Sometimes, though, they even remind us of what we consciously know, and we realize that as we interprit them. You can take them as advice, and maybe with time, you may even think of them as a trusted source of advice, but not all advice is something we listen to, even if the source is usually wise. Just think about what they say, and think if you feel it is accurate or not, and maybe watch for signs of accuracy, but be careful not to misinterprit things you see just because they cards told you to look for them- in other words, no jumping to conclusions.

Also, tell your parents that the futures the cards tell are generally not considered to be written in stone. The cards do not tell you what will definitely happen. They are not all knowing. Many believers feel that sometimes they just tell us what will most likely happen if the course of events stays the same as it is now. Kind of like, people predict the weather based on evidence, but we cannot guarantee what will happen. Well, your subconscious mind may use evidence from non-psychically gained knowledge as well as psychic info., and then use that knowledge to predict the likely outcome if nothing changes, then psychically feel out the cards and get them in the right order to send out the predicted "forecast."

You could go along with the "it is just a game," thing, explaining on top of it that even believers often do not think spirits are in control, nor that the forecast is always right, nor that it is unchangeable (most think it can be changed), and that you won't listen to and follow them blindly, and also you could say to them that you don't even psychically place the cards in the right places, but that you just consciously interprit them in ways that are fitting to your situation and that interpritation is just a reflection of what you already know subconsciously (don't have to mention psychic anything) and consciously. Also, ask them how they believe it is possible for a set of drawings on paper cards to have the ability in to conjure demons to read the cards. Do not ask them that if you think they will be insulted and get angry.

I understand that you want them to accept this, but arguing with them may very likely do nothing, but cause arguing between you. So, I was wondering why are you set on convincing them of this? Is it because you need them to buy you some tarot cards or are you afraid that they will find your cards and freak out or?

Why do some people think Tarot cards are evil?

Are they always right?

Why do some people think Tarot cards are evil?
Tarot cards, as one answerer said, are a part of the craft, the craft of taromancy. And taromancy is a form of divination.

"Divination is any practice not specifically ordained in scripture that seeks to gain secret knowledge (i.e. spiritual knowledge God has not revealed). God purposely limits His people's access to such spiritual knowledge for their own good. That which is outside of "the things revealed" is not for us. Why? Because there are spirit beings out there who have been practicing the art of deception for many thousands of years. They are good at what they do. If we dabble in their world we will be deceived."
Reply:Hello Sky

Religion has a lot to do with it as does the media.

Pam
Reply:If you do a comparative study on the subject, one of the first questions you should ask someone is if they are religious.

You'll probably find the ones with a strong religious background as having the most superstitions regarding tarot cards, Ouija boards, demons, and exorcisms.
Reply:Tarot cards symbolize an idea. The idea that there are patterns to our lives invisible to us. This is ridiculous and simplistic. Vestiges of an arcane superstitious paradigm of nature.

Unless you're talking about quantum physics. Then it's all pretty much weird and true.
Reply:I don't even know what "Tarot cards" are.
Reply:Because they are used by witches called card readers. Witches are condemned evil by some religions, therefore the cards are considered evil, if read.
Reply:Tarot cards are ink on paper, nothing more. They have no abilities, except perhaps to entertain. People get some strange ideas about them, though.
Reply:Tarot cards are a part of the craft. Most people seem to think witch craft, paganism, wicca, etc is equal to devil worshipping. What they don't realize is that there is no devil in those religions to worship. Tarot cards are not evil. It's just the closed minded, ignorent people who try and force their beliefs and superstitions on other people that make it seem that way.
Reply:I know why I avoid giving or accepting readings, and I am good at it. The problem is that you are making or accepting powerful suggestions. This is especially true if you both know the person and their circumstances and the meaning of the cards. If you are in the right frame of mind, you can be quite accurate, but what happens is that you, unavoidably, impose your vision on the consciousness of the other. That's a violation of their integrity, their human right to self-determination.

The evil is not in the cards themselves, they open doors into vision. The problem is imposing your will on others, even unwittingly. So, no, if I understand your question, they are not alway right when they say tarot cards are evil. They are like the Bible, vision if used wisely, a iron maiden of fire if used ignorantly.

Addressing the other possible meaning of your question, are the cards always right? Of course not.
Reply:Because Christianity teaches that tools used to divine the future are those of the devil.

Even though in early Christianity they practiced their own form of magic and had their own pentagram.

As for whether or not the cards are right... you'll have to judge that for yourself if you get a reading.
Reply:because tarot cards arnt special.the only reason the things happen is because the person keeps thinking that its going to hapen.and it happens(called the law of atraction).so if a person gets a bad terot card they think it is going to hapen and then ther are many chances for it to happen.so if you do tarot cards get rid of the bad ones.
Reply:Read the bible and you will find out

How are you supposed to interpreit Tarot Cards?

Tarot cards don't come right out and tell you your predicted future, so how do you interpreit what cards, such as the High Pristess mean when you get them?

How are you supposed to interpreit Tarot Cards?
The Tarot is a deck of cards that originated over 500 years ago in northern Italy. Although the Tarot was first used in a game called Triumphs, it was quickly adopted as a tool for divination, and popularized by occult societies such as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The early Tarot symbolism was deeply rooted in Medieval and Renaissance Europe, but over the centuries it has grown to incorporate everything from Astrology and Kabbalah to Runes (which predate the Tarot by 1000 years) and the I Ching (which predates the Tarot by 2500 years). Today, the Tarot is far and away the most popular tool for spiritual introspection in the West.

Tarot readings are arrangements of cards drawn from a shuffled deck. The layout of the cards is known as a spread, and determines what each card refers to. For example, the Two Paths spread is used to understand an upcoming decision, and hence it uses cards to represent the different options and their outcomes.

Decks: Tarot decks consist of 78 cards. 22 of the cards are major arcana (trumps), such as The Lovers, The Fool, The Pope, and The World. The remaining 56 cards are minor arcana divided into 4 suites of 14 cards each. The suites are Swords, Cups, Wands (sometimes called Rods or Staves), and Pentacles (sometimes called Coins or Discs). Although the traditional meanings of the cards are the same regardless of the specific deck used, the imagery and language associated with each deck tends to make it particularly useful for some types of readings. For example, many of our visitors find the Renaissance Tarot particularly good at questions of passion, mastery, and reason.

Reversals: About half of the cards in a reading are drawn reversed (upside down), which either negates or inverts their meaning. For example, Death upright means "change", but Death reversed means "stagnation".
Reply:Reading the Tarot takes lots of study and a lot of self exploration. As one person mentioned in their post a lot of it is about *your* intuition, there's really no magic in the cards (satanic or otherwise). It all comes from you. Traditionally the High Priestess is associated with feminine energy, mystery, and intuition. It's hard to say much else without knowing about what you asked and what other cards were pulled.
Reply:Get a book on it.

ER, there are 72 bits of cardboard in a Tarot deck, please read up.
Reply:In addition to the Wikki article, there is speculation that the tarot cards were used as a teaching mechanism for certain illegal believe systems. I'm unsure if this theory has any evidence to support it.

Essentially though most, if not all, methods of divining the future have been proven wrong over and over again.
Reply:Tarot, fortune telling, zodiac, etc are superstitions, and have no meaning at all except in stupid minds.
Reply:Have a look at this page that I found

Reply:Tarot cards are included in the occult. It is opening an avenue for Satan to have access to us. God says that the just shall live by faith , unfortunately, Satan knowing this will satisfy our curiosity by ways of fortune tellers. It is a system that believers in God stay far away from.

Reply:They are largely a facilitator. The information comes from one's own psyche, so interpretations will be different to different people. Sometimes I use book definitions, but largely I let the cards do the talking. I lay out a spread, and look at the cards while pictures, and scenes form in my mind. I've found this to be much more accurate, but not everyone can do it this way.

DBYTZ- that is absolutely untrue. What you obviously mean is you've never read any evidence of psychic ablility in action. Look up the government's remote viewing projects of the 70's and 80's. The results there speak for themselves. Many times the things the were instructed to see were not only in a different location, but in a different time.
Reply:Interpreting one card by itself is like trying to find your way from Jacksonville, FL to Santa Monica, CA by looking at the I-10 sign on the entrance ramp next to Jaguars Stadium.

Tarot is a JOURNEY. It is the journey of the wise fool, incidentally the first and last card of the tarot deck.

Learn more, %26amp; interpret the meaning yourself.

(Actually, the card in itself is a hermetic message for you to apply...)
Reply:they don't do anything, how can 5 bits of cardboard tell you the future in anyway shape or form, basically all physic rubbish is well rubbish none of it is true, and i know because i have been there, i have 'acted' the part of a medium, told everyone it was fake and i never had any contact the whole thing was a joke, and yet they all still said i had 'powers' if you want to believe it fine, i can't stop you, but trust me, therer is no such thing
Reply:you have to study them, learn their meanings, internalize them. read as many books about tarot as you can, not just the little booklet you get with the cards untill you feel you know the card very intimately.

then move on to the next card... it's a long process of learning what the tarot means, but if you got the high priestess as your first card, it could mean you're on the right path.
Reply:No, you are not suppose to have anything to do with them. You are playing with fire.
Reply:I have experienced with tarot cards and there is no exact way to read them. You interpret them the way you want and make up your own story with the words that each card represents.

The whole point of tarot cards is to tell a believable story and then watch a persons reaction to the things you mention. if they agree or understand that thats in their life then u play on it and build that story from what you just mentioned.
Reply:I wouldnt bother!
Reply:I hear certain ones have defined meaning and if they come out upside head to tails it is the opposite but that is all I know
Reply:You can take them or not believe them its up to you?
Reply:As a lie, as a work of satan, as an enemy of God.
Reply:Interpret them how you want. They don't really do anything.

There are various traditional meanings for the cards and there are others who claim that the cards help them with their "psychic" abilities. In reality, no matter what you say, your mark will believe you if they are prone to do so. There is a skill called "cold reading" where you can make your mark think you are really psychic when you are just guessing and getting him to feed you info.
Reply:Its all based on astrology. Tarot cards are a joke. Study astronomy not fiction.
Reply:Without reason and intellect.
Reply:I would just stay away from them period... They are a waist of your time!

Which tarot cards mean truth, the occult, and decision?

I'm writing a short story and I need to know which tarot cards (from the standart deck that has the magician, the hierophant, the empress, etc.) mean truth, the occult, and decision.

Which tarot cards mean truth, the occult, and decision?
the hierophant and the death card...It may say death but its not be read of as death, it means rebithing of ones soul~~
Reply:The occult could be symbolized by The Moon. It is the card of the journey through artistic ability, magic, and madness (all closely related concepts in traditional literature).

The Truth might be symbolized by a couple of different cards. There is The Priestess, who holds secret magical truths that she whispers only to those chosen. There is The Star which symbolizes quiet healing truth. There is also Justice, who symbolizes fairness and the truth in justice.

Decision, also, could be a multitude of cards. Death is the card of transformative decisions, the Hanged Man is the card of careful, life-altering decisions, the Lovers is the card of marital / spousal decisions, and so on.

Hope that helps a tiny bit.
Reply:The many different tarot decks based upon the Rider Waite deck will all portray symbolic imagery which must then pass through your psychic senses and, given the context of the questions asked, bring forth a tarot card meaning that significantly answers your question.

If you are using Tarot cards as an oracle, you may be more inclined to read card meanings and spreads. But if using Tarot Cards as a tool for Psychic Ability you would be less likely to hold to any hard and fast guide lines. I’m a profession psychic and use Tarot Cards in a random way. In 25 years of professional readings I’ve never used any ‘meanings, spreads or reversals’ of tarot cards from any books.

So if you want to develop ‘Psychic Ability’ throw the books and guidelines away and let the images inspire you. But you may need to try the Rider Waite or another imaged deck.

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense. The Psychic Sense.

To tap in to it more you can go to my free develop-psychic-ability page here: http://www.psychic-junkie.com/develop-ps...

But on the other hand, if you want to use the Tarot as an oracle, a form of divination that needs no real ‘psychic ability’, then keep the books and use the meanings and spreads if you prefer.

Here is a free download demo for a great Tarot program. To keep the size of the demo manageable it contains the Rider/Waite deck, the actual program will have 10 complete decks. Tarot Experts: Is it okay if I use my friends cards?

My friend recently gave me her DruidCraft Tarot cards and the book along with them. She has barely used them but she kept them out in the open unprotected. Is it dangerous to use them if they haven't been kept in a box or bag and if so what can I do to use them?

Tarot Experts: Is it okay if I use my friends cards?
Hello TNT

Its OK to use them. They will work well with you if you like them.

Tarot don't have to be kept in a box or covered, that is personal choice.

Pam
Reply:Simply shuffling them often, but patiently, at a confortable speed, for starters. Also, caring for them as though they're important, eventually comes back to you.

How accurate do you think tarot cards are?

I have a friend who strongly believes in them, and almost lives out his life based on their advice. I played around with a deck once, we were trying to find "my card" and there was supposedly a part where he said that I would feel a warmness coming from one of the cards.

Surprisingly I kind of did, but its a probablity that it was just in my head because I was sort of looking to feel it...? I dunno.

How accurate do you think tarot cards are?
The lessons I've learned over the years is that the cards never lie - they don't often tell me what I *want* to hear, but they've never lied.

I would however advise your friend that he shouldn't be so overly reliant on the tarot, or any other source, for advice and living his life. That's just not healthy. We are ultimately the creators of our own realities - he could master his life just fine without tarot. We all get a little stuck at times, which is when I may have an unbiased reader do a reading for me - so that I am prompted to take a look at my situation(s) from under a different light, or from a different angle I just wasn't seeing before. I usually only have a reading done for me a few times a year, if that...and I would not do more than 3 or 4 in a year for anyone I read for.

And yes, sometimes you do feel drawn to choose a certain card, whether it be a physical feeling like warmness or a little tingle, or the card just insists on jumping out of the deck at you.

Using them via their traditional meanings can yeild a good reading. If the reader is working via their psychic insight then the reading will be as good as they are a clear channel.

Where in the uk can I buy cheap tarot cards?
You can try this website http://learntarot.com/decks1.htm It not only gives you decks to browse through and look at but it also offers you free course in learning the tarot. You can also try borders or amazon. You should be able to find cheap decks there. I would recommend buying a deck because you are drawn to the art not because of the price. they may not work for you. Good Luck!!!

Should i get the tarot kit with companion book or just the cards?

i am a tarot novice. you can actually say that i buy tarot decks for the art itself. i would like to learn to read cards one of these days, but right now i just do have the time and will to extend myself that far.

after buying 20 or so decks, i cannot help but wonder if i should simply buy the cards or go for the complete kit like i have been doing. some decks will give you the option of purchasing the cards along or with a companion book which will run you an extra 10 to 15 bucks.

i'll be the first to admit that i hardly ever read any of the books, but let's say i want to learn to read cards in the future, will i be better off getting the whole kit instead of just the cards? are those companion books as essential as an operation manuals or something more or less to suck more money off consumers?

i would really like to know how other tarot practitioners do when buying tarot cards. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. thank you very much.

Should i get the tarot kit with companion book or just the cards?
yes
Reply:If you're buying for the art and not to use then the book has no meaning for you. Other practitioners are practicing, so what they are doing isn't what you are, therefore what works for them isn't going to work for you.

If you care about what you spend your money on. Buy the deck only. That's all you are using.

If you have cash in abundance get them both. What does it matter?

Books can be purchased after the fact, in most cases.
Reply:I love collecting decks also and have been reading tarot since I was very young

but I have never read any of the books

you like the art ... learn to read the symolism of the art

it is beautiful when you begin to see more than you realised was there

then you just apply what you see to the person you are reading

all it takes is a little confidence really

saying what you see without feeling silly ... is the biggest hurdle
Reply:i bought the cards first then later i found the book at a used book store.

i still consider myself a novice and i've been reading for a long time.

if you aren't using the cards yet i don't see the need to buy the kit. you will most likely be drawn to one deck when you start reading, and if you don't have that book you can always buy it then.

bright blessings to you
Reply:Getting the cards with the companion book will allow you to have something as a referance to compare the different nuances of each deck. If there is a deck that I am getting for the first time, I tend to see if I can get it with a companion book for that reason. If I have already had a copy of that deck, I don't see the need.

The companion books are not ESSENTIAL to learning the tarot, but they are certainly USEFUL
Reply:Get the book only once you're ready or have the time to learn. Reason being there are always exercises in the book that require time and patience so that you can learn the deeper meanings in the tarot.

And when you do get a book, get beginners book or get a companion book you will stick to- depends on the learning style you choose. If you want to know the basic card reading skills - get a beginners book and from there on you can continue your studies, and build upon the foundations so u can read with any deck. If your not to keen on making this a life time of learning thing, find a deck you think you'd like to use when reading and learn with the companion book. It'll teach you all you need to know about the symbolism of the specific deck's artwork so that once your done and satisfied you wouldn't need further learning.

i am not any sort of expert and am still learning, though it is a lifetime of learning kind of thing for me.
Reply:A lot of tarot cards will have a little booklet in the box that will give small descriptions of each card so if you aren't going to read the book...I say just buy the cards. Most tarot decks share a universal meaning so once you learn to read one deck you can read all of them. If you do get some of the more nontraditional ones such as the Indian Totem or Phoenix cards, you'll definitely want to get the book.
Reply:If it's just the art you're interested in;

perhaps the cards themselves would be a better buy for you.

Blessed be.
Reply:The only thing you really need to know is the basic meaning most commonly associated with each card, and common spreads. Unless you have a more unique deck (not containing all the regular major and four suits of the minor arcana) that isn't like the other decks. Otherwise you waste money on books that all tell you the same thing.
Reply:If you're just interested in the art for now, I'd stick with the cards. You can always buy a book or two later. My favorite is the Mythic Tarot.
Reply:If you want to read the cards at some point, then get the book. Some decks are constructed with their own very different symbology.

I actually don't collect decks. I have a deck I read with, which works for me, and which I recommend to students....though I also encourage people to find the one that "clicks" with them.

Whatever deck you find you are going to have to do some work to learn its symbol set. In my deck, for example, if the four of coins comes up in certain positions, I know someone in the situation is feeling nervous about financial security (whether this is acute, temporary, or a chronic and overriding preoccupation depends on placement and other cards in the spread.) This isn't something that I got from the book.

An exercise that works to figure out what your deck symbols mean to you is to sit down, look up the meaning of the card, and then free associate on the meaning given and the symbolic elements in the card, writing it down as you go. When you meet that card again in a spread, you will know it like you know a friend doesn't like pepperoni on pizza. It's work, but you can do one a day or one a week, and it gives you a deep and rich understanding of the symbology of your deck so that when you do a reading you can do so with confidence.
Reply:neither
Reply:Just letting you know that is an abomination to the Lord .
Reply:That stuff will lead you down a bad path. It may seem interesting and "different", but it can steer you toward trouble.
Reply:OR.........................................

you could just give me the money. Same thing in the end!

Or burn the money I spose.

What are the 22 "trump" cards, or "major arcana" cards in a tarot deck?

I know that nowadays people are starting to use all kinds of symbols to form their own tarot decks. I'm just curious, though, about what the 22 trump historically were.

What are the 22 "trump" cards, or "major arcana" cards in a tarot deck?
Hello

The 22 Trumps or Major Arcana are archetypal images that represent human nature.

Pam
Reply:You have been given two literal answers above, but to take it further, they are all symbols. Each symbol indicates a line of thought. I won't take up the space here to give you them all, but as examples, the Fool represents the New Beginning, the New Year, the Empty vessel waiting for fulfilment without any preconceived ideas. I use it on my New Year cards.

The Magician has all the tools of his trade at his fingertips. It indicates that he has quite adequate skills for the task at hand, but has not yet put them to use. The rest of the reading indicates what happens there.

The Hanged Man is usually taken to mean a sacrifice of some sort, but my interpretation is that the querent (the person you are reading for) should try to look at the situation from another viewpoint, like the man on the card, who sees what you see, but upside down.

Naturally, these are my own interpretations, and even they can change during a reading, or in different positions, and in different readings. As I said, they are all symbols, pictorial keys to your subconscious, and mean slightly different things at different times.

The actual pictures on the card serve no more function than thate, and if a different 'theme' takes your fancy, taking a different path to your subconscious, then that's quite as legitimate as any other.

There is no consensus on what the pictures on the "original" cards were, or even where they came from, but the earliest found so far are from the thirteenth century. I think that the Rider-Waite pack is accepted is the "standard". I don't like them at all, and use David Palladini's "Aquarian Tarot", but that's just a personal preference. Each reader must decide which works for them.
Reply:I don't know either, but I will be watching to get the answer. I'm sure somebody knows. I have a "normal" deck myself.

There are 22 major arkana because there are 22 paths on the tree of life, and, and 22 letters in the Jewish alphabet.

there are 10 sephiroth on the tree of life, and the suits are numbered 1-10.

There are four elements, so there are four suits.
Reply:The word Trump actually comes from the Roman Truimpants or parades that would go through the towns. They were like circuses and you always knew which order they would go in. Eventually that word got shortened to Trumps and has been causing tarot readers to ponder it ever since :)

The original tarot cards had nothing to do with divination at all. They were a popular card game in the 14th century. It took the genius of some very bright scholars to plug in the 22 Hebrew letters with the 22 Major Arcana. Those 22 letters all meant something and so that allowed the Major Arcana to be applied to Tree of Life seemlessly. There are 22 paths connecting the 10 spheres of the Tree of Life and so each card has it's path. You can view the entire Major Arcana as the Fools journey along the Tree of Life. On the journey you have the 12 astrological signs, the 7 planetary signs and 3 ancient elemental signs. On many decks you can still see these symbols in the cards themselves or at the bottom. This happened around the 1700's.

I am a ceremonial magickian and the cards are not just used for divination, they can be used for skrying and general pathworking. Since they joined those up, people who have been using cards for divination and other things can plug into an energy pattern on the astral that corrosponds to that particular card. There is literally a well worn path between where we are and where each one of those cards lives on the astral. On the astral symbols function as a bridge between the big cosmic IT and the world of manifestation.

You can do a lot with the cards if you know where those paths go and how to get there.

With the new explosion of decks, some of the "why" has been completely forgotten. The problem is that when people start arbritrarily changing the maps no one knows where those cards go on the astral anymore. So many of the Art decks are completely useless for what I do. They are lovely and I own several, but I cannot read or do other things with them.

This link will show a picture of the cards layed out along the Tree:

It is actually fascinating stuff and nothing in the tarot in really arbitrary. All of it has a purpose and a place.

Enjoy your universe!

Are tarot cards safer to use than the ouija board?

I've heard several people saying that after they tried the oiuija board various bad incidents started to occur in their life, so I would not want to test my luck with it. However, I was wondering if tarot cards are the safer alternative or if they can also attract "negative" spirits? What things can be done before/after/during a reading to ensure that no negativity is involved and that only positive guidance is summoned up?

Are tarot cards safer to use than the ouija board?
The Ouija has never proved to be of any real value in my years of psychic research. But it can bring fear into its players when the odd unenlightened spirit drifts in through the doorway you unexpectedly open.

The many different tarot decks based upon the Rider Waite deck will all portray symbolic imagery which must then pass through your psychic senses and, given the context of the questions asked, bring forth a tarot card meaning that significantly answers your question.

This Demo version of Tarot is a full working copy for 30 days. So you get 30 days to study meanings and spreads! http://www.free-tarot-download-demo.wots...
Reply:Ouija Boards are nothing more than what you THINK they are. If people had "bad luck", or "bad things" happen to them, it's totally because they thought they would. Try the Virtual Tarot Cards online. There are some free sites.
Reply:I wouldnt use them at all or the Ouija Board. Years ago I read a Book about how to tell Fortunes by Ordinary Playing Cards and so I Experimented by telling my Fathers Fortune and the Ace of Spades came up the Death Card . I got a shock mumbled something made an excuse and put the cards away my Father said nothing , But my Mother Queried me and so I owned up to Her she just nodded at me and said nothing. A few Monthes later my dad started getting Fits and going Unconcious, He died a Week later in Hospital it was from lack of Oxygen going to the Brain Due to Bronchitis Emphysemia. I prefer not to know what the Future is now , I wouldnt go near Cards or anything else now no way.
Reply:As the occult has a TREMENDOUS effect on the human psyche, I will tell you from personal experience, neither is "safe", nor is anything related to the occult in general. It really all depends on how strong your resolve is and how well equipped you are to deal with what you experience.

I have seen things and experienced things that most people would kill themselves over. I have communicated with insane things that are not truly human and apparently never have been. You would be amazed at how strong these things can be, so if you play with things you do not understand be preparred for the worst, but keep in mind, your results will be minimal until you take it seriously, show caution, and learn how to use it.
Reply:Ouija boards are pure evil!!!! tarot cards are your best bet but they have to be used properly
Reply:There is no safe or unsafe choice. You alone can decide whether the experience is safe or not. There is alot of speculation around both Ouija and Tarot. The best advice anyone can truly give is to monitor your reasons for venturing into the unknown. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You cannot know the outcome until you try the experiment.
Reply:I've sat in at Oiuija boards sessions, and the only thing I experienced was amusement (for myself) and a sense of fear (in others). This is the danger, that people take these things seriously, leading to real consequences. I have never seen anything happen that could be explained as supernatural. My friends say things like "but didn't you feel the hair standing up on end at the back of your neck"? And I tell them that it was because they were scared of something happening - not because something actually happened. I felt nothing unusual. As for Tarot cards, they are a waste of time, other than for entertainment. A work colleague went to have her cards read every couple of months, just as reassurance that things were going to be fine. One day she had a car accident and died. No-one saw that coming.

Sorry to be harsh, but fortune telling is for the gullible, and for people who need reassurance which they could easily find in themselves with little effort. It is aimed at people who are willing to part with their money.

What do you think all the mystics were doing before they opened up phone tarot card hotlines at $5 per minute?
Reply:Tarot cards do not use spirits at all as a way to see future trends. They use the energy of the person you are performing the reading for. They are entirely different than ouija boards and do not create negative energy unless the asker is harboring negative energy. Then you might have a very difficult time getting their energy off of your cards. You should always clean your cards by smudging them with sage before and after each use, and many people who read cards leave stones on the deck to help clear their energy. I do this, personally, and it works well.

Reply:NEVER EVER EVER USE OUIJA BOARDS! Just try out Tarot cards if you must... but if you really want answers... figure them out yourself. The answers are there... you just have to look for them.

Ouija boards have caused bad incidents for tons of people; they drive (believe it or not) bad spirits to people and cause bad things to happen. NEVER use them... I'm not sure about Tarot cards... but I'd stay away from them if I were you... they're smetimes considered unholy.
Reply:Here's the thing. With a ouija board, you're actively saying, "Hey, spirits! C'mere a minute!" Inviting them in, you know? But with Tarot cards, you're using the cards to access your own subconscious wisdom, your own connection to universal consciousness, so you aren't inviting anything in. I've never had a problem with Tarot cards, and I've been using them on and off for over 15 years.
Reply:Psychics, mediums, and ghosts have become a sensation in our culture today. As a result, there are many confusing and deceptive beliefs in our society. Most people we know have these questions:

Do ghosts in any shape or form exist?

Why is there a rise in psychic phenomena today?

What do psychics believe about God?

What is Satan’s role with the paranormal?

How can parents protect their family from the psychic trend?

How DO you counterattack the supernatural bombardment our modern world undergoes? There is a GREAT book recently released: The Truth Behind Ghosts, Mediums %26amp; Psychic Phenomena - it provides ample, relevant warnings and ammunition. Opening with dramatized examples of people who have sought psychic help, this book gives lucid accounts of the various types of psychic information flooding our lives, from TV shows like Ghost Whisperer and movies like The Sixth Sense to paranormal education courses in local schools; from psychic fairs and retreats to occult board games like Bloody Mary.

You owe it to yourself to KNOW the TRUTH before you do anything that pertains to the occult!
Reply:The hype around Ouija boards is way over done. But if YOU feel more comfortable with the Tarot, than use them. Think of any divination or spell like driving a car.You must be buckle your seat belt and keep your eyes on the road. Also you must know how to drive. So the first thing you must ask is do you know how to do divination? Have you studied magickal theory or practice? If not, pick up a book like Edain McCoy's Making Magick. Learning about magick and divination will also help you learn how to focus and protect yourself.
Reply:Since you're asking and are probably not a skeptic, I was watching Sylvia Brown, a psychic, on the Montel show last week and she said that Ouija boards we're like a portal for the demented spirits, or something of that nature. So, any kind of messages you get with the boards usually aren't true but are pretty spooky. I haven't heard anything on tarot cards but, even if they do attract "negative spirits," just put them away and be done with it-- I'm pretty sure they have to leave once the item is done being used.
Reply:As someone who has used tarot for over 20 years, I would say that I have experienced no ill effects from them. Tarot is not a form of spiritism the same way that ouija is.

And saying a prayer for guidance can't hurt before doing a reading. Just remember that even if you don't like what is in the reading, that does NOT make it negative. Would you consider a red light negative?

I'm sure that there are those out there with religious objection to any form of Oracle, but oracles are a long standing part of honoring the Divine and even make an appearance in the Bible....
Reply:just imagine a white protective light around all who are involved and call in higher level spirits.......... they are fine... tarot cards..not the boards...don't mess with them!

blessed be
Reply:Ouija boards and Tarot cards two different animals. They don't serve the same purpose.

Ouija boards are meant to communicate with the spirit world, while Tarot cards give you insight to your subconscious. So, there aren't spirits involved when it comes to Tarot cards.
Reply:personally i like the ouija board better, nothing bad has ever happened to me after using it
Reply:I have worked with ouija boards and tarot cards lots over the years and neither one has caused an injury. I suppose a card could give you a paper cut, but a board could be easily slipped on if left on the floor. Yeah, I'd avoid the ouija board.

Seriously, if enter any psychic session with a negative attitude, any negative preceding events will appear to be caused by the session. If you have bad feelings about ouija boards, don't use them. In themselves, they are no more or less dangerous than any other psychic tool. It's all in how you approach it.
Reply:I'm pretty sure everyone has at least a few bad things happen to them throughout the course of their life. I doubt using a Ouija board had anything to do with it. I used to play with one regularly - the only bad thing it did to me was to give me a false (but temporary) hope that I'd one day marry a man named Rql Tdt.
Reply:Honestly I would not do either. This is a true story okay, my best friend died a year and a half ago, she drowned. And her mother told me that it was so weird because her sister and her were doing tarot cards and she kept getting the death card and she kept doing it over and over and kept getting it, this was about a month before she died. Then when she got home, she was so scared she had her mom read her palm, because she used to be into stuff like that, and she said that her life line was very short and choppy at the end, indicating an early death. And she did die at 16. That reallllly freaked me out. And not that I would have done any of those things before but DEFINITELY would not do it now
Reply:Yep, I think so. Ouija boards are supposed to be communicating with spirits, and Tarot isn't.
Reply:I would definately say no, if you do some research you will find out that astrology, the use of TAROT CARDS, crystal gazing, palmistry, and the search for mysterious omens, or signs, in dreams, all fall under divination. Divination is an attempt to find out about the future or about something unknown. Many people think that practicing divination is harmless, the Bible shows that fortune-tellers and wicked spirits work together. A bible example of this is found in Acts 16:16-18 which mentions “a demon of divination” that enabled a girl to practice “the art of prediction.” But she lost this ability when the demon was cast out of her. i just thought you might like to know that and find it interesting. I hope this helps. oh and i believe tarot cards are also associated with the occult which is something i would definitely stay away from.
Reply:Tarot cards can conjure up evil spirits. You should not mess with these things as they are evil. I have played with both. Please stay away from them.
Reply:yeah tarot cards are safer

Do I need a vendor license to read tarot cards?

My mom does flea markets on the weekends selling her custom jewelry (she has a vendor license to sell jewelry) and I want to set up beside her tent to read tarot cards for a small fee like $5.00 do I need a vendor license to do this? I researched it online and it only states you need a vendor license if you are selling general merchandise... but I would be selling a service but not merchandise. So do I need the license??

Do I need a vendor license to read tarot cards?
Depends on the state and county you are in. Each has different rules. Go down to your local business licensing department and ask. If your mom has a license, she knows where it is. The problem will be tarot cards themselves. Some places are still in the dark ages and argue that tarot reading is devil worship stuff. In other places, you can get away with asking for a donation instead of a fee.
Reply:If you can read tarot cards then you should know all the answers. :)
Reply:why would you want to work for the devil.
Reply:nope
Reply:You aren't a vendor if you read cards. The license is to make sure you pay sales tax. You have no sales. You are only responsible for paying income tax on the $5 you charge.

No license is required.
Reply:do it in the closet and no one will know

How do you feel about Tarot Cards?

Do you Believe?

How do you feel about Tarot Cards?
The cards themselves are merely a tool. The skill and ability of the reader is what matters.

If you're considering having a reading, try to find someone reputable in your area. That may sound like an oxymoron, but not everyone is out to dupe others. There ARE those who believe in what they are doing.

My advice would be to check your local yellow pages under metaphysical. Avoid the ones who go by names like Princess Whatsit, Queen Mystica, or Cassandra. Look for Julies, Karens, etc. The less outer trappings, the better.
Reply:No. Each card have an standard meaning. You memorize each card and bang you are a Tarot card reader.
Reply:I don't believe them I guess cause I hear about so many people trying to do it. I think it all depends on your level of spirituality!!

I would like to know what you get from these tarot cards. Experienced tarot readers?

In a reading regarding what will happen between a certain two people in 3 months.

I pulled the Chariot, Judgement and the Knight of cups.

I know the knight of cups can sometimes mean a fight for love.

Any other meanigns/advice on this?

I would like to know what you get from these tarot cards. Experienced tarot readers?
First understand that a reading is based on the present course of action of the Seeker. You can change anything at anytime by changing your present course of action.

The Chariot represents the Universal Child who lets go of the reigns and trust in the universe, but you must not fear. You must control your emotions and believe in yourself.

Judgement often signals that a major change is heading your way, but the change will not be a destructive one. The change is under your control, (See Chariot). Judgement teaches that while you must be aware of the past and the lessons you have learned, you must not degrade yourself because of mistakes - mistakes are just part of learning! Put the past behind you and look to the future, ready to begin again. Now is time for a definite step, so don't let the shadows of the past hold you back.

The Knight of Cups is a messenger; represents invitations, messages of love and proposals of marriage. The Knight of Cups can also represent wisdom that comes from your dreams to help you surmount obstacles in your life at the moment.

So what do I think this all means? I think that if these two people trust in the universe, believe in themselves, learn from, but not dwell on past mistakes, AND continue on their present course of action, love will develop. (But, then again, I'm an optimist).
Reply:Hello Tash

Chariot ~ This card shows a stressful ride, a time where control is needed or chaos will disrupt issues.

Judgment ~ this is a card of summing things up, situations coming to an end, a time to accept what is.

Knight of cups ~ this is a romantic card, showing attraction - but also daydreaming.

Overall, by taking charge, accepting aspects that cannot be changed there is a psychical %26amp; emotional attraction that could be beneficial.

Reply:im not experinced im still learning the cards but u can go to http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/ for the meaning , and u have to see where u placed the cards i mean the first card u pulled means the past , second card means the present , thrid card means the future this way it might help u get it correctly
Reply:Since they are your cards, they are running off of your energy and your understanding of symbolism.

If I were to read them, they would not be accurate.

What you need to do is look at each image -what colours do you see? what symbols?

what's the season in the card?

Is yellow showing fall? or is yellow happiness to you?

is a dog dangerous for you? or do you love dogs and they mean friendship?(just examples of images seen on some cards).

Is the person in the cards an adult? a teenager? or a child to you? do they rpresent a person or a situation?

Look at each thing and let the meanings come to you.

It is difficult to read one's own cards-b.c it turns biased, and I really don't recomend doing it too too much- however if you do get someone else to, it needs to be their own cards that will be shuffled by you and will then be interpreted based on the cards owners meanings.

You can also get alot of practice by reading other people in this manner with your own cards.

To get away from bias, I baught myself what are called Russian Gypsy cards, and angel oracle cards.

Accurate cards that don't rely on an interpretation and they are useful when I need some insight and don't want to get my own biased in the way.

I'm looking for a website where you can choose your own tarot cards and make a reading?

You could receive text message of your daily reading. The website had a black background. During your reading it was animated and gave you a definition of each card. I can't remember the name of it

I'm looking for a website where you can choose your own tarot cards and make a reading?
http://www.llewellyn.com/free/tarot.php

This is my favourite. Pick 'The Gilded Tarot' cards as I find they are the best. And the most beautiful out of all the tarot sets as well.
Reply:I don't know what site you are talking about but my site gives you the option to pick a deck or tarot or angel cards and also a reading to help in an situation includeing a lost pet reading.

If you would like you can visit it at http://www.selenarayne.net

You can find out more about angel and tarot there as well.
Reply:There are lots of sites for free tarot readings, but as far as I know, there are only 2 sites where you can actually "choose your own cards" for the reading. (Most sites just randomly choose the cards for you).

The two sites that feature a manual 'card choosing' phase are tarot.com, and http://www.ifate.com

iFate.com is the only free site I know of that lets you choose your own cards and do a tarot reading

'Hope that helps

If you burn Tarot cards will you be cursed?

My family thinks for some reason that if you burn the cards then you will be some how cursed for some reason. So could anyoone tell me if that's true.

If you burn Tarot cards will you be cursed?
NO! they are just a deck of cards, like if you drop a bible does the skies open up and send lightning crashing down upon you?! relax, you wont be cursed, and besides curses only work if you truelly believe in them
Reply:Hello

Nope ~ not true.

Pam
Reply:Only if it is the 5 of knives, other than that you can burn them all you like. *rolls eyes*
Reply:Nope
Reply:only if you believe you will!!
Reply:Why would you wanna burn them anyway?
Reply:yes, if you burn the cards you are essentially burning your fate/ life line this is why it is never done and cards are passed on down the generations.
Reply:No!
Reply:I once played poker with tarot cards. I got a full house and 5 people died.
Reply:It won't curse you, BUT if you want to get rid of a deck, MAIL THEM TO ME instead, hehe
Reply:Totally NOT true.
Reply:No! Silly notion, where did you get this idea??

Tarot cards are just a deck of cards...nothing nefarious about them.
Reply:Sorry ; But burning a tarot card or deck of cards will NOT curse you or anyone else ...

Can tarot cards really tell the future?

My boyfriends friend has been practicing wicca for awhile and does tarot card readings. He was recently given a new tarot card set and wanted to do a reading for me, but that psycic stuff kinna freaks me out. But the more he told me about it the more intrigued i was. Now I want to try it. Should I do it? How does it work? Is it accurate? What should I ask?

Can tarot cards really tell the future?
No one can predict the future with tarot cards. They are along the same line as astrology - you are actually interpreting what is said to fit your life. If someone told you that tomorrow if you see a woman dressed in red you would be lucky in financial matters, what would you do? You would be on the lookout the next day for a woman dressed in red. Then if you seen someone dressed in red you might go and buy a lottery ticket. If you win, you would think, oh my gosh, they were right, I'll do it again! But if you didn't win, you would make all kinds of excuses like maybe it wasn't the right shade of red that she had on, or maybe she needed to be all in red, or maybe I wasn't supposed to by a lottery ticket maybe I was supposed to go play Bingo... and on and on. You make your actions fit the prediction and if you can't then you try to justify it. It's a superstition to some and a way to scam money for others.
Reply:Sorry hushnowjust... you are wrong. You must be too young to understand that astrology is a science %26amp; everything is energy. Nothing can truly fortell the future. Nothing is set in stone. We are ALL co-creators, therefore we change what we choose to change. Report Abuse

Reply:HOWEVER Tarot cards work with a persons spirit/higher self %26amp; therefore are accurate a good % of the time. They are a tool one can use to gain perspective on a situation. Report Abuse

Reply:The spirit/higher self works with the ONE CONSCIOUSNESS which is GOD.The energy is channeled from GOD into the person giving the reading %26amp; then it's perceive %26amp; interperet with our own consciousness. Report Abuse

Reply:By and by hushnowjust..... Tarot cards do not fortell what people wear...I can tell you've never had a true experience with this tool. It's well advised that you have an understanding about materials before you speak about them. There's enough ignorance in the world already, thank you. Report Abuse

Reply:The thing with tarot cards is their intepretations are too vague.they could be connected with anything if you really believe enough in them.if i said to a few people that something in their life was coming to and end and a new begining was starting for them do you realise how many people could say i was bang on the mark.its too vague and does predict anything.its the person getting the reading that makes it what it is
Reply:Yes they can, my grandmother was told her fortune by tarot cards, and every little thing happened. You should try it, not really for sure how it works, yes it is accurate, you can ask anything you want.
Reply:Nobody can tell you your future. Tarot cards only tell what is happening with you NOW.
Reply:give it a try, if he is doing it free of charge. yes the future can be predicted using the cards.
Reply:i have just started reading cards. i use a regular deck of cards. they are based on tarot cards and can be very accurate. i did it just for fun, but so many people have told me that my predictions are coming true. now that kind of freaks me out. but it is all in good fun. let the cards tell you, i think it is better than asking questions. ill read you one day for fun. just dont blame me if it comes true lol.
Reply:NO, the tarot cards are a tool that a PERSON who can tell the future uses. They give us clues and we work out the details.

It's nothing ot be freaked out about,
Reply:if tarot card can tell the future, i will be a millionaire by now.
Reply:Tarot cards show you the possible futures that you might have. It has more of an effect if you take them seriously and ask real questions. Any answers that you get is a possibility, and you can change it by taking a different action.
Reply:I have used tarot cards before and there is no doubt in my mind that they work. The first time my friends and I used them we repeatedly got the same card, in reverse, in the same card position. This happened at least 8 times. It was really freaky. But since then, every time I've had a reading it's been accurate about what is going on in my life and I can look back now and see things that have happened that it predicted it would. It's hard to believe it really works, but if you're open to it and really concentrate it is real and does work. Just make sure you're using for the right reasons. It's a special and very real thing. It shouldn't be messed with. It's meant to be taken seriously.
Reply:Tarot cards help to focus you on what the future might bring, they do not predict the future. They just aid you in seeing what might happen due to the choices you make.
Reply:Only if they like you. Tarot reading should thus be all about making them like you. I wouldn't throw them at the table or cut them brusquely or place them on a dirty table. If I was a card, that would just piss me off.
Reply:Hi im brian and i am a certified tarot master with the canadian tarot network. i have been studying and reading tarot and related subjects for more then 16 years. i have my own code of ethics published at the tarotcanada.com website. in order to answer your doing futures question you have to understand the nature of reality that we live in. RIGHT NOW you have an infinite amount of choices in what you think, say and do. and when you make that choice it sets up future consequences or causes and effects. so clearly because of this infinite amount of possible choices there is also an infinite amount of future outcomes. if your life follows a pattern of decisions (and 98%) of us do follow a pattern. then predicting the outcome of that pattern becomes easier. but at no time should you or anyone think that, that future is etched in stone. everyone has the ability to change thier future by changing their own patterns and changing the flow of their decisions. now everyone is psychic its just normally a muscle most people dont excersize so it seems as if its not there. practice that muscle and it will get stronger. and as a person who has done endless study into tarot let me give you a hint in the direction you may want to choose in further study. (kabbalah, qabalah, cabala) is an ancient hebrew study for mysticism. and the tree of life is a mathmatical and geometrical phenominon and that it has 10 dots (sephiroth) that are similar in style to the ace to ten of tarot. it has 22 paths that are similar in style and meaning to the 22 major arcana cards. it has 4 primordial worlds that are exactly the 4 suits of tarot (primordial air fire water and earth) so if you want to give your tarot understanding a major boost look into this subject.
Reply:I've had my fortune told by tarot cards and it was extremely accurate. Acutally, I was going through a pretty tough time at the moment; I had just broken down and seen a therapist the day before and the guy reading the cards said pretty much everything the therapist told me.

I didn't know the person reading the card and I didn't ask any questions, so it was all him reading the cards (and probably my body language/reactions). However, I talked to him afterwards and he said that he and his friends all read tarot cards, but it's a bad idea to read each other's cards because they know each other and that can influence the interpretation.
Reply:No, it is just how you and the reader interpret the cards. When you hear your reading if there is something you want to happen some people change their ways/thinking's in hope that it will happen.

Generally they are very open and it can apply to any aspect.
Reply:yes, but the cards need to blessed. I have been reading cards form the age of 9...I would go into more detail but it to way to long.
Reply:It would be better for you to buy yourself a deck of cards, don't allow others to touch them. Get to know the cards and what they mean. These cards best answer yes or no questions. You aren't suppose to ask questions like when or if I am going to die, get hit by a car, when will I die crap like that. It can be a guide and not more. Life changes on a minute by minute bases, and no cards or stars can say when anyone will die. You won't find out when you will win the lottery or what the numbers either. I don't feel that a person on the phone can tell me anything about me without me being personally present. I have read cards for others and I read them the meaning of the card and how it could pretain to their question, which I do not ask ahead of time what the question is. I keep it a yes or no. If you just wanted a quick answer, I have just read the last question with a Yes or No, and the meaning of the card. Death card doesn't mean Death either.

Nor should one use these readings to plan their day or their lives. Should not be taken so serious, it should really just be used as entertainment and amusment. Unless you really get to know what your doing, and money should not be an issue. Unless it's taking up too much time.

If you play cards with regular cards you know it's a game of chance, some cases of numbers. Some people can feel things and see things that others have closed their minds to, we have things we can and can not do.

Now, that's just the way I look at things such as this. Doesn't really matter, I am just adding me 25 cents.
Reply:yeah, partly, but not 100% it's a dangerous field that opposes God. i used to be into some really stupid stuff, but when you see who has the real power, you kinda forsake all the nonsense.
Reply:I am a tarot reader myself. I have practiced wicca though I grew up in a christian home. I have had many accurate readings. However the reading depends upon the person doing the reading and the cards. Not all cards read for the all people. The person doing the reading needs to make sure they have an actual connection to the cards themselves. I have been wrong only once, but I was reading for a Pagan who's energy/power whatever you want to call it was stronger than mine and therefore has the ability to disrupt the energy I use to do the readings. You don't have to believe it, but it's the truth...as far as can be proven.
Reply:Ok Tarot cards sometimes can tell the future.... but you do not want to play with them. And if you do demonds will try to hurt you and haunt you for the rest of your life. You need to follow Gods way and stay away from that kind of stuff.
Reply:Do what you will so long as you harm none. Tarot cards usually are quite cool to look at and they are also a pretty fun. What they are NOT is a reliable indicator of what your future will be; so don't get obsessed with the readings you get. The best indicator of your future is your present: for example, if you are a sloppy underachiever living in rather unpleasant circumstances, then there is a high probability that you will be in more or less the same situation ten years from now...unless you take practical steps to change your behavior, figure out what you want from life, make a plan of graduated steps to achieve your goals, and then take those steps towards getting the life you want. Most people are rudderless: it is useless knowing their future because they are, in fact, going nowhere.

As for wicca, it too is quite fun as religions go, so long as practitioners do not fall into the pitfalls that characterize more traditional religions i.e. fundamentalism, rigid thinking, and a complete embrace of sheer irrationality and beliefs based upon little or no credible supporting evidence. Religious extremism is always ugly, no matter what the religion is.
Reply:no.
Reply:they tell what you wish them to tell. It could show you the tortured soul of your past life or it could tell you of the golirous future ahead. if you do the same ritual three different time on three different days at midnight witht he same atmosphere and you get the smae things then that should tell you something. I've done it only once in my seven years of Tarrot and it showed me my past life, my present lifea nd my future life interlocked my a magik that has been in my family for generations. I wouldn't suggest you doing a wiccan ritual until you understand what everything really means. It could cause a butterfly effect in your mind and then you become paranoid. i've been there. I did a Tarrot reading before i blessed my deck and i ended up with Death. just be careful.
