Tarot Cards?

I've just bought a deck of Tarot Cards. Do I need to "cleanse" them or "charge" them in some way or other? Also, I tried a basic three card reading about a particular person who's entered my life right now, and this is what I got: Three of swords, hanged man, and two of cups. Can anyone give any insight on that? Thanks!

Tarot Cards?
Hello

I advice student to first simply divide the deck into 4 - 5 piles individually so that their chronological order is disrupted. Looking at them %26amp; shuffling them every day will soon charge them up for you.

3 Swords - this is a card of emotional upset, tears %26amp; loss.

Hanged Man ~ this is a card that shows standing back, seeing what is really about you due to whats going on in the mind.

2 Cups - a card predominantly of friendship.

From those 3 cards it would seem that due to past emotional hurt, that this relationship should be taken slowly %26amp; a strong friendship built before anything else.

Reply:You're already using the cards wrong. You have to determine what the cards mean, don't ask someone else. The message in the cards is for you and only you can read or understand it.

To consecrate your cards simply burn some dried sage, sweet grass or any incense you have around and pass the cards through the smoke. When you're not using them keep the cards in a black cloth or bag. This will keep them "neutral" until you handle them. Plus, don't ever let other people touch your cards.
Reply:As you shuffle the cards they will be "charged" with your energy. Don't have to cleanse them but be care of what other people's energy comes in contact with the deck.
Reply:Right. Here's an attempt to make a positive statement for you.

3 Swords

indicates a conflict between reason and the emotions. Quite the right card for its position - you're uncertain about this person.

Hanged Man

Usually indicating a sacrifice of some sort - not necessarily serious, but you may have to "shift over" a bit to accommodate this person. Alternatively, looking at the card you can see that the hanged man doesn't appear to be in distress - he's just looking at the same things you are, but FROM A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT. You may have to do that. too.

2 Cups

A coming relationship of a personal (rather than business) kind is in the offing.

So. Looking at it chronologically, you were concerned about the person, now you have to look at things another way, and maybe change the way you live just a bit, and a relationship COULD develop. The 'could' is up to you.

At times like this, I remember an interesting quote - Never pass up an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.

If this all means something to you, then you need do nothing more to your cards, they're fine.

Reply:Just holding and handling your tarot deck is usually sufficient to energize them. Check out the first web address below to learn more about Tarot reading. The second web address will take you to a Tarot card meaning locator.
Reply:I actually do cleanse my cards - when I first get a new deck, and then when I feel the need. I take three at a time and pass them through the smoke of some cleansing incense such as sage or frankincense. One of my tarot teachers suggested then sleeping with the deck under my pillow for three nights - to help connect the deck to my third-eye and subconscious mind.

Shuffling the deck prior to drawing a reading infuses the cards with your energy and question at hand. You should practice meditation to help develop your intuition as well. You could pick a card from the deck each day and spend a bit of time meditating on it. Keep a notebook handy for notes on your tarot meditations, readings, etc. so that you'll be able to look back on them - it will help with your continued studies and development.
