What brand (style) of tarot cards did Jung base his ?
Jung didn't base his theory of archetypes on tarot cards. Jung's theory is older than whatever deck you're talking about.
Reply:I was talking about that particular deck your mentioned not Tarot cards in general. (6,000 years? I don't know of any Tarot decks or specific references to the Tarot that go back any farther than the Middle Ages.) Report Abuse

Reply:The tarot cards were only one of the mystical realms that Carl Jung explored. He, like Freud chose to delve into the unconscious often using themselves as the subject so as to reach into the unsuspecting mind. It is from their works that psychoanalysis had its beginnings. Jung chose to go along the lines of mysticism and symbolism as representative of what was happening deep inside the behaving brain. Which deck of tarot cards is not important. What was important was what they represented, specifically to the individual.
