What do you think of TAROT cards-do they really work? Why do some people think they are evil?

Some people are ignorant, (like bob) and see evil in people and things they don't understand or that are different from themselves. I use my tarot frequently to help me see things from another point of view. Try the "Learning Tarot" by Joan Bunning. It's one of the best beginner books I have come across.

Enjoy.

What do you think of TAROT cards-do they really work? Why do some people think they are evil?
They are actually where regular playing cards originated from in around 1400 AD...
Reply:Anything that can turn out to be a "false agenda" for some hidden true purpose may be evil, so I believe we should be very wary of the people who choose to deceive us for there betterment or cause. Cults are the classic case of a group that promotes it's way of thinking to capture the mind and intellect of the victims it recruits. Remember the "Jone's town disaster"? About 1,000 members of a cult led by Jim Jones took their lives in a place that became known as Jonestown, Guyana when Mr Jones simply told them to. They were led to believe that the group had nothing but good to spread in the world when they joined the cult.

How does this relate to Tarot cards? Anything you can be made to believe is true when it may not be is a threat to your well being because once you believe in the falsehoods, your susceptible to manipulation by the person or group that seeks to indoctrinate your mind and control your life. The person or group may actually think their intentions are good, but nevertheless the result is an evil theft of your independent thoughts and unwanted manipulation of your life.

So before you decide to get involved with any activity, group, or leader see what some respected authorities on the subject say about it. There are plenty of good references on cults and cult-like behavior, so take your time and read some so that you can decide for yourself who's trying to pull the wool over your eyes before you decide to allow them into your life.
Reply:Bob gave a good answer above!!!

I think tarot cards are bogus for much of the reasons he stated....

they don't work.....however, there is this "perception becomes reality" type thing, much like voodoo, if you start believing in the cards and there possible meanings you may let that actually shape your life and actions to a point where something negative or positive could happen and you may actually believe that it relates to the cards.

Throughout time, whenever one puts there faith or believe into something other than god, whatever it is that they put there faith into or believes into is usually labeled evil...

People should believe in thereselves and realize that we control our own destiny through gods will...
