Tarot cards...a sin?

I recently bought tarot cards on the internet and before I use them I would like to know if the are a sin. I am a catholic trying my best not to sin.

Theres a script in the Bible that says your not to consult spirits or soothsayers etc...if you want to say since it says that then its a sin?

I have read some of the answers that you recieved.


I however do not believe that this tool is EVIL, SATANIC, or a SIN.





But they are right about the readings from the Bible. I am not Christian, but I am not Evil either. I feel that if you live with a fee conscience you are truely free.





So the question you ask is truely for you to decide. If you question it someplace in your mind you believe they are a sin. If this is so then you need not to use them, for they will only put a splinter in your mind that you will need to live with.





On the other side. I have NEVER believed them to be Evil and use them quite regularly. I grew up with them around me. They were a part of my life.





Remember this Good People are Good People no matter the name they call God by.


Now you decide............ Are Tarot cards Evil or a Sin?

... but most will probably say its not something you aughta do.





I'd research more, meditate on it, and see what your instincts say.
Reply:If something doesn't glorify God in some way it is a sin.
Reply:The Bible clearly warns us to stay away from such things as tarot cards, etc. They will only harm us. Only God knows the future. Only He holds the future and we can only trust in Him.


Tarot cards, witchcraft, satanism are all wicked and evil in the eyes of God and will only hurt you. Trust in the Lord. He loves you and He died for you. Tarot cards are witchcraft.

Reply:Obviously I am not Catholic, but I am pretty sure that a priest would tell you that they are a sin.





For Muslims it would be because it is like going through the devil's power to obtain information.
Reply:Yes, they are a sin. What one does by using them is relying on something else to determine your life. As a Catholic, you know better. Trust in GOD not items of the occult.

Reply:Burn them first.They are very sign.Consult with spirits and stuff like horoscopes are very evil.GOD hates them.If u want to know something u should seek GOD.the bible says"ask and it shall be given unto you".Why u wont stupid cards when u have a great GOD from whom u can know things.plus these cards will allow a door for devil to come into your live and maybe into family too.Please through them away.





The penalty wasnt torture and torment for 3 days.If u remember what JESUS said on the cross he said it was finished.That very day a angel tore the veil separating two places in the GOD temple.JESUS was perfect in everything and was with no sin.The bible says "He who has no sin became sin for us".He took our sin on his own and spill blood for us.It isnt JESUS toture that would take u too heaven.It is JESUS blood that would take u too heaven.That would cleanse ur sins and remove the power of death and sin over u.Please accept what JESUS did for u.

Horoscopes, tarot cards, astrology, fortune tellers, palm readings, séances, etc., fall into this category as well. These practices are based on the concept that there are gods, spirits, or deceased loved ones that can give you advise and guidance. These “gods” or “spirits” are demons (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). The Bible gives us no reason to believe that deceased loved ones can, or would even want to contact us. If they were believers, they are in heaven, enjoying the most wonderful place imaginable – in fellowship with a loving God. If they were not believers, they are in hell, suffering the un-ending torment for rejecting God’s love and rebelling against Him.

Do you know what witchcraft is? Witchcraft is seeking help or guidance from any spiritual source other than God. There are only two sources of spiritual power: God or Satan. Ultimately there is only ONE source of power because the only power Satan has is that which God has given him (Luke 4:6). If it's not the power of God's Holy Spirit, then you are dealing with the devil. It's as simple as that folks. Anytime you here someone using words like "spirits" or "spiritual" without mentioning Jesus Christ or the Bible, run as fast as you can. The devil is a spirit, just as God is a Spirit. Our battles in this life (according to the Bible) are ultimately against the devil (Ephesians 6:12). The devil works inside people's hearts to lead them to do horrible things. The devil can't make anyone do anything, but he inspires them with evil to the point where they do his will without hesitation.





All forms of horoscopes, Tarot cards, psychics, palm readings, fortune telling, crystal balls, Ouija boards, astrology, worshipping or contacting the dead, and sorcery are of the devil. "Sorcery" is an interesting word in the Bible. It is derived from the same Hebrew word that our word "pharmacy" today comes from. Hence, sorcery is the use of drugs as a medium to contact the demonic world. If you've ever spoken with someone who was a serious drug addict, they can tell you of the demonic experiences they had while high on drugs. I have talked with such people who claim that they saw demons and unbelievable nightmares. Drugs will mess you up quickly.





I have written this article to solemnly WARN anyone who may be reading this to...PLEASE stay as far away as you can from the evil things I've just shared with you.

Reply:Yes, they are a sin. It's a mortal sin. If you look at any "examination of conscience" it list tarot cards along with palm reading as sins that need to be confessed.





We are not to try to use supernatural powers, not of God, to see the future or predict what will happen.
