What do you think of tarot cards/readings? Do you think there is any harm and evil in doing it? Thanks?

I personally don't think there is "evil" in cards. They are pieces of paper with drawings on it. But I wanted to hear some opinions. If you think they are evil tell me why. If you read that they are evil from a prominent, distinguished source (magazine, book, TV show) plz tell me.

What do you think of tarot cards/readings? Do you think there is any harm and evil in doing it? Thanks?
well lets see, I've been reading cards since I was very young. I'm now 46. I'm still breathing. Haven't been zapped by lightning, Haven't been involved in any life threatening thing, except when I fell off my dirt bike. I don't feel evil spirits and I like to think I've helped a few people along my path.

Some consider them evil and tools of the devil. But that's not my choice and all in all my cards and I are still here.

Reply:Definitely not.I've used them to get me through some of the hardest times of my life. They're invaluable.
Reply:Fooling with tarot cards is about as evil as playing solitare.
Reply:I know people who are afraid of it. I read cards myself on occasion, because I like the decoding bit - cards give you coded messages and you have to figure them out.

When I read cards for someone, first thing I do is tell them not to give out anything personal, because that might influence *my* answer, and I would prefer the cards to give the answer instead. I also tell them *not* to put too much faith into them.

For me it's just entertainment, and I can see in the eyes of people who have their cards read, that they do not think that way. Which is a shame, because it is only entertainment.

So as long as you let the asker know they shouldn't let their life depend on it, there is no harm in getting readings. There is also no evil in them. They're just cards... and so far I've not been bitten by one yet.
Reply:It doesn't hurt to try it. The only problem is you shouldn't let silly stuff like that take control of your life. If you want to get a reading and it doesn't turn out the way you want, just forget about it. Cards don't control your life; you do.

Reply:I myself don't follow tarot cards simply because unless you know how to decode the cards its just a bunch of symbols laid out in front of you and you can make of them what you will. I would not pay for a tarot card reading because I don't believe in them. However in some cultures tarot cards are a way of determining everyday life and deciding on what path to take from day to day. I do not find tarot cards to be evil but I do think that if your going to have a tarot reading done make sure it is done for free. Anyone who charges will only tell you what you want to hear most people who do it for free will explaine exactly what the cards mean according to how they were taught to translate the cards.

Good luck!
Reply:It's just an idea, but not too sure if they are true. however after you read your future, they just lead you to that way of thinking.
Reply:I think that is just plain crazy and ungodly how can something like that tell u ur destiny. If u want 2 know ur destiny talk it over with GOD!
Reply:nothing wrong really...but don't replace your faith with it
Reply:I have had nothing but positive experiences with Tarot Card readings. Positive in the sense of those things being uncannigly accurate.

In the hands of a gifted person, the Tarot can be a powerful tool.

I usually go to a Psychic Festival here in Boston or up in Salem once a year to have my Tarot Cards read, and I take them very seriously. Most come out pin-point accurate. So you got to be careful.

Evil? Only if it is misused like anything else. But I truly do not believe that Tarot Cards are inherently evil (though the Vatican really frowns on this practice.).
Reply:I think it can be fun! Don`t go making life altering decisions by it or nothing. but if you enjoy it do it

but if you don`t don`t
Reply:I dont see any harm or evil in them. The only problem is that some people open themselves up for exploitation. Otherwise harmless fun
Reply:Hi Maria,

I find tarot cards fascinating and not at all evil. Like our dreams, they’re full of symbolism that opens our minds to our subconscious. Although the cards have generalised meanings, there is no universal symbol which has the same meaning for each of us. The same dream symbol in two different people could, for instance, have two different meanings. It depends on what the symbol means to the individual; this also goes for the tarot cards. That’s why when reading cards, it’s important to learn to trust the feelings the card triggers. Tarot cards are like a mirror, reflecting a person’s life in that particular moment in time. They can give guidance but they shouldn’t be used to live our lives for us. Using tarot cards can help us gain a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Of the lessons we have to learn in life, the difficulties to overcome. How do they work? I go with the psychologist Carl Jung’s theory of Scynchronicity that states “Anything done at a particular moment in time has the qualities of that moment in time.” The cards that are dealt reflects past, present and future events corresponding with that particular time. To tune into the symbolism of the tarot (and what the cards mean to you), meditate on each card. It sometimes helps to colour in the drawings of the cards. Sounds a bit childish but it has worked for a number of people I know. If you want to try it, click below:

If nothing else you will find it relaxing!
