Is using tarot cards against Christianity?

is it a sin to use tarot cards if u r a christian? tarot cards only involve your soul, right?

Is using tarot cards against Christianity?
The Bible takes a pretty strong stance against all forms of divination.

Deuteronomy 18, "10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God."

Revelations 21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Jeremiah 27, "9 Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: 10 For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish."

There are about a dozen other verses on it as well.
Reply:I've read tarot for a living. They only are 'bad' for you if you believe they are. God, sin and the soul have nothing to do with it unless you want them to.

The way they work is the random symbols define the situation you are presently in, and then show the best direction for you to go in your future.

The reason tarot works is not magic (or more correctly 'magick') but merely logic. The definitions change to some degree from one reading to the next, due to several factors; the cards relating to each card, the personality of the subject, the questions asked of the cards, and so on. The eastern equivalent would be the i ching.

So get away from superstition and enjoy the insight into the self the tarot can provide, not by psychic aspects but by logical and psychological ones.
Reply:You are to trust in God only. By default, when you use Tarot Cards and fortune tellers and the like, you are giving powers to those who are not of God and so yes, this is definitely against Christianity.

Note - I do not believe this means that their is NOT power is such things. For example, in OT times, there were fortune tellers and magi however, their power did NOT come from God so it came from Satan.

We are to trust in God alone so this sort of stuff would defintely be out.
Reply:it's not a good idea. Tarot cards are playing with the occult, and God doesn't want us to get involved with that. There are two sides of the supernatural realm- the side of evil, and the side of good. Any time we try to tap into the supernatural realm through tarot cards, mediums, witchcraft, magic, seances, astrology, etc, we are playing with the 'dark side of the force' (to quote Star Wars). God doesn't use those things. There are demonic spirits on the other side who will gladly oblige you with an answer, but they will lead you astray. It is very dangerous to dabble in it, because it is real, but it will lead you into deception. Demonic spirits are very good at lying and deceiving. I wouldn't hang out with them if I were you.
Reply:yes here is why

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

Deu 18:11 or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Deu 18:12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.

Rev 22:15 But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone loving a lie, and making it.
Reply:The reason why christians are against tarot cards is because they are taught only to believe in one higher being not any others and that you stay true to him and him only. Tarot comes under the occult as the predicitions are to do with past present and future.
Reply:good thing you are asking!! look at what the bible says, i feel that we should not just say yes but also give proof from the bible, read here in

1 timothy 1:4 4 nor to pay attention to false stories and to genealogies, which end up in nothing, but which furnish questions for research rather than a dispensing of anything by God in connection with faith.

hopes this helps sweetie!!
Reply:Yes it is a sin. Please do not use them at all as you will be medling with the occult world which is so dangerous and nothing good ever comes from it but pure torment.Interacting with the spirit world is just asking for trouble. Those are the sort of things that suck you in to the spirit world and lead to things like demonic possession.

PEACE be on you my sis.
Reply:Actually it depends how you use them. If they are used and understood to be symbolic archatypes to access the mind then that is ok. It is nothing spiritual. But if they are used on a spiritual level of any sort they would be wrong for a christian to use.
Reply:Yes, not to mention a waste of time. True story, when I was about 14 a friend and I asked the Ouiji board if it was controlled by the devil. Immediatly after asking, the lights in the entire downstairs of the house went out.

Don't mess with it.
Reply:Tarot Cards are not mentioned in the Bible, and whether it is popular knowledge or not, they *were* invented by Christian mystics and use *Christian* imagery.
Reply:Yes, they are sinful, just like wege boards. Stay away from them. So are horoscopes, your sign, ect.

Ok so I spelled wege wrong. Whats it to you?
Reply:it's against Christianity...everything is against it! stay home, hole yourself up, and live a lonely life without sin.
Reply:Yes, spiritism and superstition are sinful. Tarot cards involve both these types of sin.
Reply:YES IT IS A SIN! you are NOT supposed to participate in the occult.. if you have tarot cards get rid of them IMMEDIATLY
Reply:yes its called witcheree in the Bible.
Reply:The answer would be yes. You don't need those things.
Reply:I say use them and ask Jesus yourself.

Or that john the baptist guy, Always liked him in sunday school.
Reply:your kidding right??
Reply:just for kids under 13 years
